We were completely panicked after reading all the negative feedback on consumer sites regarding auto shipping. My husbands' Power Wagon is his favorite possession and he is meticulous about it's care and protection. We we decided to move across country (again) he insisted we ship the truck to avoid the wear and tear plus 3k miles. We drove it across country once because we were so scared of damage due to the horror stories we read. I was so pleased to find the U-ship site and, to me, there were so many smaller shippers that I guess had more control over their business. I felt much more comfortable with this service.
We contacted someone after they bid on our shipment and arranged for them to come and get it. They were fun to talk to and really knew their business. I felt the truck was in good hands, especially knowing they were going straight to the destination with no off-loading of the truck. I did read that other shippers use contractors in different states and the vehicle may get loaded many times before it's final destination, hence the obvious increase in potential damage. It's a strange feeling letting your vehicle go away with someone you've just met! All in all, this was a great experience. We rolled up to our new house and saw the truck sitting there right outside like a big, proud sentry protecting it!
We would definatley use U-ship again; in fact we already have contracted another shipment of a concert grand piano so this will be extremely interesting to see as the thing is huge and weighs a ton. Very skilled people involved with this shipping industry, obviously.
Thanks again, U-ship!
