My mom changes her house around and constantly buys and sells furniture so I knew that by the time she died everything that she has would be completely changed and anything that I might want would no longer be there. She is by no means old (68) and I'm not setting my sights on what I can get. It's been a family joke for a long time and there is a long time for her to replace her furniture. The one piece of furniture that she had that I really wanted and thought she would never get rid of what an entertainment center that she bought 20 years ago from a woman who had it hand made in England. When she told me that she was refinishing her family room and trying to get rid of it, I knew I had to do something. I called quite a few companies for quotes and they ranged from $1800 to $4000! I finally settled on one company and had talked to them a few times. The night before I was going to finalize my shipment, I decided to google shippers one last time. UShip came up and I thought why not. What do I have to lose? Mom was going to get rid of the furniture anyhow so if something happened, so be it. I was quite surprised at the prices I got bid. They were nearly half of what I was willing to pay! After a day of deliberation, I decided to go for it. The turn around time was quick, the responses were prompt and the shipment went without a hitch. Treasure Coast shipping did the work and I got my furniture. I'm very happy and would use this method again if Mom decided to get rid of any other items that I might want. The one gotcha was that the furniture had to be palletized and boxed. It took a couple of days for Mom and Dad to put it all together on the pallets, get cardboard to wrap it etc but fortunately that was a requirement as some of the cardboard had minor damage. If we hadn't wrapped it, the furniture would be damaged. So they definitely know what they are doing! I highly recommend them. I did take out insurance which was cheap but didn't have to use it.
