I wanted to buy a dump truck - naturally, my wife was skeptical. I saw a nice looking truck on Ebay. It was priced right and located in my original hometown, 300 miles from my present home. With only 2 hours left to bid and unable to reach my wife to discuss it, I placed what I thought was a reasonable bid for the truck. Only after committing to the bid, did I read in the fine print that the truck has a bad engine!!
I had to tell my wife...."the bad news is I bid on a dumptruck without discussing it with you, the really bad news it's got a bad engine and can't be driven home. The really, really bad news is I unfortunatley won the bidding by only $1.76!"
The GOOD news is, I was able to hire Bilco Transportation via U-Ship and got the truck transported at a very reasonable cost. They were great!!
Now all that remains is for me to fix the engine myself. If I can do it, I'll have bought an otherwise sweet little truck for a total investment still well below book price and will have saved a little face with my family. (Maybe she'll appreciate me more when she's got me out hauling everything under the sun for her friends.)
Where was this service 30 years ago when I had my own trucks on the road and had to hustle my butt off to find loads??
