Let me start by saying it's taken me 3 years to ship my daughter's furniture and miscellaneous items to her. Little by little, I've shipped the small stuff, but the larger, heavier items (sofa, chair, bookshelf, and records), proved to be too big for conventional shipping and too small (not enough pounds) for traditional moving companies.
Fortunately, after getting a HUGE bid from a moving company, I thought about all the people on eBay and that they couldn't possibly be paying the prices I was quoted shipping large items. So, I Googled "eBay shipping" and found UShip.
I posted my items and within an hour had 2 bids. One bidder not only matched my price, but sounded super easy to work with. The other bid more than $100 what I was wanting to pay AND had all kinds of conditions, which made me think of all those scary 20/20 reports on shippers holding people's stuff hostage until the pay more.
I chose to work with Paul of CTYANKEE, and am so glad I did. Communication was effortless. Pick-up went smoothly and easily, and Paul is such a nice guy I wasn't worried about my daughter having any problems on the receiving end of the shipment, either. She received the items a day earlier than expected, with great communication, and Paul actually offered to charge her LESS than our agreed on price! She declined, because like me, she was sooo happy with his prompt, professional and affordable service.
This shipment cost me 20% less than what I was quote by a local moving company!
Thank you Paul for making our first UShip experience a FABULOUS one. Anyone reading this, I highly recommend accepting any bids you get from CTYANKEE!
And, thank you UShip for providing an opportunity for people to receive affordable shipping of those items that don't qualify for the ground carriers and aren't worth using a traditional moving company.
I'm actually looking forward to needing to ship things in the future and will be sharing my experience with friends and family.
