I just purchased a 37' two-year old boat. I live in Cleveland, Ohio and the boat was located in Clearwater, Florida. I needed a company to transport it fairly quickly. I also needed someone with a flexible schedule since the exact closing date was still a moving target at the time.
Tim Beattie from Beattie Enterprises was one of 12 bidders. His pricing was very competitive, but more importantly I felt comfortable enough through online communications with him to award him the business. The initial date we selected had to move due to a delay in closing and Tim was flexible enough to accommodate another date that suited my needs.
Not only did Tim provide a very competitive price, his insurance coverage was one of the best I've seen among the 12 bidders. When others offered $100K at no charge, his was $350K. In addition, his bid had no hidden fees or charges where others wanted to add a surcharge to be determined at the time of bid award.
As the boat was being loaded on his trailer, Tim inspected the boat himself and took very clear pictures of a couple of areas on the hull that needed to be buffed out. He ensured that I was aware of these minor scratches that the dealership caused. He also ensured that the boat was loaded and strapped down correctly in order to prevent any damage during transit.
Despite a minor mechanical problem during transit with his 2006 Peterbilt where a sensor went bad and had to be replaced at the dealership, Tim ensured that he still delivered the boat to the marina on the same promised date. He was a few hours late but I know that he tried to make up for lost time on the road.
Most importantly is his personal touch in this whole transaction. I felt very comfortable through continuous communication with Tim throughout the duration of this transaction that my boat was in good hands. He assured me that he would take care of it as if it were his own and he did.
Thanks Tim and uShip for making this transaction a success story.
