In purchasing a small sailing dinghy without a trailer did not think it would be so difficult to be shipped. It was only 10 feet long and weighed 115 lbs, what could be so difficult.. Some shipping companies would not consider a boat and some wanted over $3000 when they heard the word. After contacting friends and thinking at one point to do it myself the seller suggested uship. Dimensions and pieces also seemed to make it more complicated. Does the 16 foot mast break down, how many pieces are there, should I get it shrink wrapped together? Would I get it before the water froze. Once listed on Uship I started to get responses and though it seemed expensive when I broke it down it was a bargin in time, money and stress relief. GIF was great and actually called me while he was on the road so knew it would get here ASAP. It went quick and arrived faster than Priority Mail. Now if the weather will hold out got lots of sailing time before the freeze. Excellent experience!
