Luis Merced of ALSuperstore was extremely nice and completed the delivery of a large Wheelchair lift on time and in good condition. He even unloaded the large device himself using the very wide lift elevator on his large box truck and even set it on the ground where I wanted it placed. I will definitely use his services again, if he is available. I had bought this device in the Chicago area with plans to use it at my daughter's Chicago condo, which was hard for me to enter because of stairs. However, her condo association would not allow her to set up the lift for me. So I was stuck with an expensive wheelchair porch lift device which would cost more than $900 to ship to me in Texas using regular freight carriers. I thought there must be a way to get a reasonable rate with a trucker who wanted to fill his not-completely-full truck with some more cargo that he could make a fair, but not exorbitant profit hauling. I did an internet search and found uShip, which I had never heard of before, but did exactly what I was trying to do myself--namely find a trucker who wanted to fill empty space with cargo from individuals who could not afford regular commercial freight rates and make some additional money for himelf that he would not make otherwise by filling this empty cargo space. So I joined, uShip and listed the wheelchair lift and got bids from three different shippers. In a few weeks, I got bids that were within $75 of my target goal for the shipment of $150. I felt the bid of $225 was reasonable for a 1,010 mile delivery from St. Charles, Illinois, which is close to Chicago, to Woodville, Texas; so I accepted the bid and am very glad I did. (Although if I had held out a little longer, I might have got my $150 bid!)
