I purchased my boat and trailer in Virginia and contracted to have it shipped to Bellingham, Washington, as I live in British Columbia. Well I had the boat surveyed prior purchase, as the trailer was fairly new I took the sellor's word on its condition. That was a mistake, my shipper had to replace all the wheel bearings and seals (tandem axle 7000lb trailer) in Denver, CO. Then an axle spring broke (sometime in the past it had been heated and lost its temper), then a hub blew up 50 miles from home. So I when I finally got my new boat and trailer home I ended up replacing all the hubs, brakes, bearings, seals, wiring and springs. The shippers on this site are all warriors, anybody that would make their living hooking on to strangers boat trailers and heading out across the country are a brave breed. The lesson I learned was to have the trailer inspected and fix anything that might be suspect before your boat and trailer begin their trip to you. Thank you UShip for providing this necessary service.
