The whole uship experience was a good one. I accidentally found uship.com looking for someone to pick up my father's boat in Corpus Christi, Texas. All the quotes were pretty expensive... around the $1500 but Tim Reed's quote came in at $890. We couldn't understand why his quote was so much less. It turned out he lives in the same town as we do and getting the boat was actually on his way for another job... so it was a "win, win" for both of us. Tim did a nice job transporting the boat and was very friendly... after a long conversation we discovered we graduated from the same college, in the same field, at the same time! Small world.
Tim did have a small mishap on the return that was no fault of his. The trailer we had to transport the boat was very old and on it's last legs... after driving it all the way from Texas, at least 1400 miles one of the axels gave out. Fortunately the boat did not hit the ground and Tim called a tow truck at to have it towed to his house. The tow would have cost me $300 but Tim put it under his insurance and only charged me part of his insurance fee... $17!
