My mare was to be shipped from Hollister, California the week 6/18-22 to El Cajon, California. Called a "commercial hauler" and thought things were set up, was told to call back the Monday of the week for exact time of pickup. Meanwhile, let the Barn Manager know that the stall would be vacated that week and gave a month's notice. No problem - had horses on a waiting list - stall would be filled the next day.
Made the requested call on Monday, June 18 to verify pickup time to "the commercial hauler" - was told "couldn't possibly be managed that week as they would have to come back over the Golden Gate Bridge, we'll need to reschedule". I didn't understand. My horse was out of a home and due to ship, I THOUGHT, to southern California on June 21. Big Problems.
I was at work that day but as soon as I got home, I hopped on the internet, typed in California Horse Haulers and came up with uShip.com. I typed in what I needed and crossed my fingers.
WOW!!! Was I ever pleased...I immediately got a call at 7:30pm from Larry of Fundamental Transport and he said he'd do the haul. It was such short - but Larry made me feel confident and calm about the whole situation. He had a late run and contacted me to let me know the time would be pushed back. He picked up the mare, loaded her for me as I was in class at that time and notified me as he was leaving the facility. I could hear her hollering in the background saying good-bye to all her horse buddies. Larry kept in contact with my trainer in El Cajon where she was headed and with me constantly. His trip ended up being an overnight stay and he contacted me to see if he could remove her blankets. Everything about his company and his attitude spoke "gentleman".
I never did meet Larry, as he beat me down to El Cajon, but my trainer liked him a lot and so did I.
He will be used consistantly by me and any of my friends who ask who I used. He's a 5 STAR company in my books! Thank you Larry!
