I needed to have a new 38' Fountain Lightning boat moved from Missouri to Florida, Since I didn't know who to call I did what a lot of people do nowadays and searched the internet for boat hauling companies. After finding hundreds of them I started calling around the country (since they were from everywhere) and had them price my shipment. After having to repeat myself 15 different times (every company asked for the same information) and getting prices ranging from $2,500 to $4,200, I was just as confused as I was before I started. Some companies included insurance, others didn't, some wanted to pick up the boat tomorrow, others said it would be in the next few weeks, etc, etc, etc. Eventually, I came across the website for USHIP and decided to give them a shot. I opened an account, filled out the questionaire describing what I needed shipped and when I wanted it shipped, then sat back and waited for companies to bid for the job. The first company bid $2,500, the next bid $2,200, etc. The bidding went lower and lower, getting as low as $1,100. (I opted for a company called WEHAULBOATS even though they were not the lowest bidder because they came across as being professional and honest on their website.)
Having started out as a clueless rookie to the whole world of shipping, I now feel confident that I could ship anything-anywhere with USHIP. I highly recommend them to anyone needing to have something shipped.
