Recently my 88 year old uncle passed away. He was a finish carpenter by trade--a man who specialized in historic interiors in the Philadelphia area. In his spare time he built a grandfather clock (from scratch). It took him 4 years to build and two years to find the right clockworks. He actually traveled to several states to search out the clockworks. The clock is about 7 feet tall, with delicate spindles and finish work.
In fact, at my uncle's funeral, the priest spoke of the clock as a symbol of my uncle, a plain, hard working man who made beautiful things that came from his beautiful heart.
My uncle left me the clock in his will, along with a Hammond organ. When I posted my request on USHip, I explained how precious these two items were to me, not because of any monetary value but because of what they mean to our whole extended family.
ProMovers responded with a very understanding note. Just based on that response, they had my business!
Today the clock and organ arrived. The mover could not have been more gentle or concerned about the things. He took special pains to see that everything was in absolutely perfect order. Although he had a long trip ahead of him, he took his time and made sure the job was done right.
I stumbled on to UShip when looking for a mover; and I really stumbled onto ProMovers when they responded to my posting. I feel doubly blessed and would recommend BOTH to anyone. Indeed, I already have.
My thanks to James and to UShip!
