I was shipping a 26 foot boat on a trailer from Charleston, SC to Jacksonville, FL so that it could be loaded onto a ship for delivery to me in the US Virgin Islands. I had many competing bids from uShippers and chose Whellin2go even though his bid was slightly higher than some (and lower than others). I chose him because his feedback was so positive.
I was trying to arrange this transport from 2000 miles away, and using uShip really made it easy. (I had first tried the on-line Yellow Pages for South Carolina, but that didn't give me many choices and after a few phone calls to trucking companies to find that they didn't handle my load, I Googled and found uShip.) It was truly convenient to have over 10 bids from truckers who were specifically equipped to move boats.
When Whellin2go picked up my boat, he already knew about the paperwork I would need to give to the ocean shipper -- he had dealt with them before. This helped me get my documents in order, because the ocean shipper had not told me about some of the documentation needed.
Then, when the boat got to the ocean shipper, Rocky, the owner of the company, stayed in touch with me by phone as his driver tried to navigate the cumbersome procedures of getting the boat accepted for export. I felt like I had a personal representative on the scene to get the job done for me. When you are shipping cargo valued at $40,000 and aren't there to see what happens when it changes custody from one shipper to the next, it's really nice to have such a level of comfort in the competence and professionalism of your trucker.
