I bought 4 barstools from Overstock.com. They provide free shipping so I didn't think twice about ordering them. When they arrived, I loved them - my husband HATED them! Who knew that anyone could feel that negatively about barstools that were gorgeous brown leather, extremely confortable, very sturdily built for a phenomenal price (less than half of the same thing at Crate and Barrel). He told me either the barstools went or he would. I did think about it for a few days - as I said, I really loved those barstools...Then I started checking with UPS, etc. to return them. PANIC ATTACK!!! They wanted more than the cost of 3 stools just to send them back. I was about to put an ad in the paper to sell them when I 'googled' for cheapest freight shipping rates. I ended up at Uship's site but was very skeptical. Who are these people and what might happen to the barstools in transit? I put up my shipment for bid just out of curiousity and went out to dinner. That night I had 3 bids already that were all less than UPS. Then Kevin submitted a bid, but I still wasn't sure. My husband was in a very bad mood for a couple of days and I went back to seriously planning on keeping the barstools instead of him...However, a couple of days later, Kevin submitted an even lower bid and he and I started trading emails. I had a lot of questions as to how the system worked. I final summoned the nerve to hit the 'Accept Bid' button. Kevin picked up the barstools way south of Boston on a Thursday afternoon and by Monday I received an email from Overstock that they had received the barstools in perfect condition and issued me a full credit. I feel like I have discovered a secret society here. I can ship without feeling totally ripped off by the ridiculous prices of the 'big boys'. So a huge thank you to Uship and Kevin - although I'm still wondering if I made the right decision because I really did love those barstools!
