"Great experience transporting my motorcycle back to the UK from USA"
shipping from Houston, Texas Oakham, LE15 6RG, United Kingdom for $1,812.30
My bike had been in storage in a "climate controlled" locked facility in Houston since 2006 and it was time to get it shipped back to the UK after I retired from many years working abroad in the oil industry. I initially had tried to organise the shipment myself but encountered lots of issues about how to transport the bike (in or out of a container and crating it and the customs clearances required etc.) Then I found uShip. This allowed me to get the job done in one go. I did find the bid process daunting though as I had no idea how much it should cost to do the job. This is still to me the biggest issue with uShip. My bike was shipped successfully and all went well but I have no idea whether I paid the "going rate" or overpaid for the service I was provided (which was excellent). I am sure I probably did not "underpay" or the job would probably have never been accepted by the service provider but It does leave you wondering whether you have overpaid in the first place when you have no idea how much it should cost. The bid slider process has no "determination" mechanism to know how and why the upper and lower limits on price are initially set (as far as I can tell) so you are left deciding how much you want to pay with no "reality check mechanism available". At the end of the day though you just have to think that whatever you paid it must be enough and hope that it is sufficient for the bidders to provide you with the service you require and still make it worth their while also.
