I had to deliver a fridge freezer from a colleague's place to mine as he's sold it to me. I haven't ever used a courier bidding service before. I tried imoveit at first and got no bids. Then I tried AnyVan and uShip. AnyVan's bids for the job started at £80, which was almost how much the fridge freezer costed me! They only went down to £50. With uShip it started at £38 and then one courier offered £35 and communicated with me quickly and easily about the particulars of the job as it had to be done after 7pm on a weekday. We communicated easily and the job was done with no problem. I would definitely use uShip again over AnyVan. While AnyVan may have a cleaner site and highlight reviews and positive experiences a bit more, the cost in the end is way too expensive. Also, uShip emailed me way less than AnyVan. I got an email from AnyVan with login details, another asking me if I needed help, emails for every bid I got (I could only put forth the job to 10 couriers at a time) and then another email again asking if I needed help - as well as their customer service chat popping up when I was on the website asking if I needed help. Perhaps for some techno-phobic customers this is useful, but for me it was a lot of emails and such that just didn't feel necessary.
