I went through one uncommunicative, lying, bum of a shipper, moved on to a nice guy who just kept delaying because of equipment problems (warning sign) and finally found the right company in AKYachtmovers. While I know that Uship can't be expected to ensure standards within the shipper community, I do feel still a little frustrated by the process.
The second issue I want to bring up is that of the payment system. When you accept a bid there is a nice, convenient, button to push for sending the deposit. Why is the same system not in place for paying the final amount? I just assumed that when my driver arrived I could go onto uship.com and press a payment button, using a credit card, and sailing off into the sunset. The total lack of clarity on this matter (I could find no instructions for payment anywhere) meant that I endured a sudden cash crunch when the delivery arrived. After planning for weeks to pay with a credit card, I found that using one would not be possible as the driver only accepted cash.
It would have been very nice to know this in advance, Uship!
