How would I have known about my shipper and how would he have been able to set himself up as a small-business professional were it not for Uship? I had a heavy garden tractor to ship and Ken took care of the shipment like a pro and at a very reasonable rate.
I don't have the equipment to transport such an item over long distances and I hope he is able to maintain a good, profitable business, because he certainly exceeded my expectations. I am guessing - and this is only a guess but a pretty accurate one, I think - that I would have had to pay twice as much if a traditional freight service had to ship my tractor.
I don't understand the discipline that it takes to be a long-distance trucker, but it must be nice to be your own boss, although Ken must have had to work hard at it because I have found over time that, when a person makes something look easy, it's because they've done a lot of work to make it easy.
One interesting thing about this shipment is that I live in such an area that isn't well documented by GPS's and he followed me in the last 5-10 miles by cell phone, and didn't make a single wrong term; I would have had a lot of trouble trying to find my house after a short trip, let alone after hours on the road. As I said in my feedback, two thumbs up for him, he earned every bit of it.
