My father owns a ranch in Texas and wanted to give me one of his tractors for use on my farm in Kentucky. After posting on a few websites to find a shipper and having deals fall through (no return calls after we'd had verbal agreements, no feedback system so I could evaluate the quality of the company)I found U-Ship.
I received several bids but found them too high--they were definitely higher than the average U-Ship suggested for the route. I then received a bid that was still higher than the average, but the shipper had great feedback and was in instant communication with me. We answered a few questions for each other and then he placed the formal bid. I could not be more pleased with the service. He was professional, on time, and when he hit a weather-related delay he contacted me right away. If I'd driven it myself I would have saved about $200--not enough to justify 26 hours of driving, for sure.
My tractor arrived in perfect condition, and he unloaded it and drove it up to my garage.
