We shipped two company service vehicles on open transport from Columbus Ohio to Dallas Texas.
I admit to being skeptical at first and a little concerned with the agreement language, but decided to go ahead anyway.
The Uship site was easy to use- I had several bids within an hour of posting and we settled on a provider by the end of the day. Feedback from other customers was instrumental in selecting the provider.
With a few emails and phone calls everything was arranged. We saved as much as 30% through the bid process over the highest bid offered, and almost half as much as it would have cost for me to have employees move the vehicles.
My only concern is the transport agreement- owners should be advised a bit more clearly that they will carry liability for any damages. Even though the transporter was insured, the back of the agreement excluded all but the most preposterous conditions that might have resulted in vehicle damages. As our vehicles are insured through a corporate policy it was less of a concern but I would have felt a bit more concerned about personal vehicle transport. I understand the need for the transporter to protect themselves- I just think it should be made more clear to the owner that they should seek additional coverage or verify with their agent that they are covered before entering into an agreement.
Overall, Great experience and ideal for this kind of move.
