I needed to move a fairly small amount of stuff (a 1 bedroom apt) across country, from Philly to LA, and the research I initially did really had me worried. Most advice I got said that I should go with a local company, but many local companies, even reputable ones, have to charge a lot for cross-country moves because they don't do regular back and forth shipments to make it worth the trip. However, when I was at the end of my rope and beginning to panick, one man who ran a moving company in Philly recommended I try Uship.com. I went onto Uship a little nervous but I was reassured by the feedback aspect and the open communication between bidder and poster. My experience turned out great. I had heard of horror stories about movers, but I selected a mover with great feedback and the fact that they must stick to their bid price if I stick to my posted inventory was also reassuring. My move went smoothly and I know it would have been much pricier if I'd gone a different route.
