My son is in the military and needed to move out of his apartment and move on base. He has a unregistered truck with a rear end that "locks up" that needed to be moved off the property also. I agreed to bring the truck to my place by myself, but I encountered one complication after another about hauling the truck safely and legally. I spent hours searching the internet and foraging through stores to upgrade my pickup step and tow to be suitable to haul the load and seeing if there is some permit to allow unregistered vehicles to be hauled with any wheels on the road. With the deadline quickly approaching I took the chance to see how much it would cost to have it hauled with uShip. The estimate of "like shipments" came in so low that I couldn't resist. It only took a week for the actual bids to meet the estimated bids and I had 2 truckers competing for the bid @ and below estimated price. Craneman4 was exactly who I needed to ship this truck and as it turns out he was dropping a load in Vermont and he needed a paying load to bring back to keep profitable. For me, the 265 dollars to haul the truck 170 miles from Northern Vermont to Southern Maine is money well spent. I am so excited to find out how easily this process works because this opens the possibility to consider larger EBay purchases.
This is my lesson well learned...had I gone to uShip earlier, I would have saved myself the worries and the hours of research...because, I couldn't ship it better myself.
