Well, after about 20 different quotes, I came across this site and after signing up, received a bid from "Movers Unlimited" and didn't hesitate to take their offer (it was less then 50% the cost of the other carriers). Other carriers wanted to charge me the cost of the piano! I understood ahead of time that it would be delivered at the convenience of the carrier and I was ok with that. The piano was delivered in a few weeks, was packed well, and the driver was curtius, quick at unloading, and gave good notice as to the time/day of delivery. There were some delays on the original projected date, but honestly, who cares? At 50% off the cost, they could have delivered it in 2 months and I would have been happy. If time is not of the essence, this is definitely your best bet at securing a good, affordable shipment. If it's an expensive item though, I would suggest you get your insurance for the item from your insurance broker (3rd party insurance is really expensive).
UShip and MoversUnlimited saved me $500!
