When I first discovered Uship, I was already comfortable with the familiar format. It works great. I've used Uship to move large, awkward metalworking equipment, and more recently, a gokart that I built for someone. I carefully crated it up, photographed it, and wrote a listing. The crate was too big for the usual choices of shippers like UPS, etc. I also didn't have an easy way to get it to a freight terminal. I got a very competitive bid from a Uship service provider that already had a trip planned along the route my crate had to travel, so it was a great fit. The provider picked it up at my driveway, helped load it, and had it delivered the next day. He was very professional. He told me what he was going to do and he did it, and he kept me informed every step of the way. What more could anyone ask for? It occurs to me that the Uship model can also be considered "green". With a little planning, shippers can put extra capacity (empty space on a truck) to good use, resulting in competitive shipping rates for customers, more earnings for the people that are already going to be on the road, and energy savings for all of us. Of course I'll use Uship again. My only regret is that I didn't come up with the idea myself. -M
