We had trouble finding an affordable, reputable company to complete our move from upstate NY to western Nebraska. Anyplace we could find either had extremely high prices, a bad reputation, or simply did not service the remote area we were moving to. Bob (Washburn Moving) to the rescue! We got a few bids within 24 hours of posting our move on uShip. Bob's bid, although not the lowest, was very reasonable. What impressed us was the specific, impressive feedback, as well as Bob's quick, professional answers to all of my nervous questions via email. So after checking with the BBB in Bob's area (at Bob's suggestion) we accepted his bid. With only about two weeks until our move, Bob'd partner, Jessica, communicated professionally and quickly with us via email. The contract was scanned and sent in a .pdf, and I returned it via email within hours. They had quick answers for every question (ex: "Should we leave clothes in dressers?") The move itself was utterly painless. We never imagined such a hassle-free experience. Bob was on time at both ends (a little early, actually) and brough lots of furniture pads and little extras like tape and a few boxes. Loading/Unloading was professional and quick. There was virtually no damage to anything. In addition to doing his job exceptionally well, Bob was a kind, calming presence during this stressful time. As he unloaded the truck at our new house, my three-year-old waited anxiously for his newest prized possesion to come off the truck. The kid is absolutely obsessed with golf, and a family member had recently given him a real professional golf hole and flag set. Our son kept asking Bob "May I please have my golf hole?" When the red flag became visible among the piles of our stuff, Bob took my son by the hand and walked him up the ramp into the truck to get his "golf hole." As Bob pulled away after completing our move, my son yelled "Bye Bob!" and then turned to me and said "I feel a just a little bit sad."
