This was our first process/shipment via UShip and it was surprisingly positive and easy. My husband purchased a motorcycle from a guy in Brooklyn on Tuesday night via e-bay but then had no real concept/plan for how to get the bike home to Iowa. We contacted professional motorcycle transport companies and their estimates came in well over $700! Ouch. We then decided we'd make a cross-country trip to pick up the bike but then had trouble finding a trailer that would allow one-way rental. Argh. Then I remembered UShip from when my boss purchased a boat and needed a way to ship it. I logged in at about 10:30pm, listed our shipment, and by morning I had six bids. (We were very surprised at how easy it was to list our shipment! UShip integrates with ebay - so all we had to do was enter our item number and everything was there for the shippers to view - so we didn't have to spend a long time describing our item, tell them where it was, etc. All the seller/buyer information was entered for us.) Back to our bids: A majority of bids came in the price range of the other transport companies. KazTransport's bid came in second lowest at $375. I checked his feedback/comments, reviewed his profile, and asked him questions. Although we had a lower bidder - we picked Eric because of previous positive feedback, he had an enclosed truck, he responded promptly to questions, and he was actually near New York City - so the timing was great. Once we accepted his bid - Eric communicated promptly via email, called us within moments to clarify pick-up and delivery, and we had our bike in less than two days. We were a little nervous sending our money to a guy in Brooklyn for a motorcycle (pretty much site unseen) and then asking a complete stranger to pick it up and transport it to Iowa...but it all worked out very well.
