I like how U-Ship works, it allows the person arranging shipping to get multiple offers from a variety of different shippiing sources. Works a lot like ebay, you post a shipment and you get bids on your shipment where each bidder has a feedback score and you can look at comments that other's have made about their experiences with each provider bidding. At that point you choose which provider that you like the best or bids the lowest, your choice. I believe that this commodity allows for a competiviness in the shipping industry where only being able to call a variety of shipping sources ends up getting you high bids that the service your are afforded are no better than what you receive here on U-Ship. A monopoly is never a good thing, having company's bid on your business always benefits the end consumer "you". So far each bike that I've had shipped on U-ship has arrived in the same condition that it left in, and communication is always available with the your shipper. The only thing that I can see negative about U-ship is how you are not able to contact the shipper outside of the service until you accept their bid. I have in the past needed to arrange a quick shipment and needed to contact the shipping company about various concerns prior to accepting their bid, and was not able to do this accept through email. Obviously as you will probably know that often after sending an email to someone you realize that you forgot to ask somthing or had another question that you forgot to ask and without being able to contact the shipper prior to accepting their bid makes it difficult to have clear understanding of your needs as well as what the shipper is expecting from you. I have on one occassion had a bid that I was close to accepting that the shipper hadn't read all the details of the shipment and was unaware that there were two bikes going to two different locations, if I would have accepted their offer I would have been in trouble because the shipment wouldn't have worked
