I purchased a 1951 Chevy truck on Ebay. I needed to bring it 550 miles north of where it was located. I didn't really have the time to go get it myself. I looked at the options E-bay had for shipping and their prices had me about ready go get the truck myself anyway. Then I heard about uship.com and decided to post my truck and see if anyone could bring it up here for about what it would cost me to go get it.
I had several offers that were reasonably priced and of course a few that were what I deemed outrageously high. For one reason or another (incompatible pickup or delivery dates, lack of feedback, or or no insurance) most did not pan out. After a few days I accepted an offer from a provider with good feedback and insurance. The day before he was to pickup my truck, he was sideswiped by another vehicle. Luckily he was not injured too badly, but he was off the road due to his van and trailer being inoperable. So, back to uship I went.
The cancellation process was quick and easy. The money was put back on my credit card the same day.
You might want to add an e-mail notification when monies are returned.
Back my shipping story:
I reposted my shipment and in a few days I had another group of providers submit bids to haul my truck up here. I settled on USA Trans. They had good feedback and insurance. The price was very close to what I was planning on paying and quite a bit better than the quotes E-bay had given me.
The truck was picked up and delivered to me 9 hours later.
I had 3 phone calls that day from USA Trans. the first to let me know my truck was loaded and on it's way. The second to update me on the time of arrival. The last to tell me they were on my street.
Long story short:
For about the cost of gas, meals and a night in a hotel, uship saved me from 16 hours on the road and I'm sure at least 1 speeding ticket!
I will recommend uship in the future. It is a great way to get bids from several providers at once.
