My wife has wanted an old (like 1800s) library card catalog for a long time. We happend to find one on Ebay, but it was 1500 miles away from us with no way to get it from CT to TX. I happened to hear about uShip from a friend that knew of the company but had not used them. I looked up their website and read all about the service. It sounded very cool! So, I signed up and listed my job need. After about a day, I got one bid, but thought it was sort of high, so I used some of uShip's great on-line tools to see what other goods were on a likely route that included my route. I also sought out transportation providers that had done lots of jobs and done so with high quality ratings. Timing didn't matter to me, so I was willing to trade off timing for price and quality. I found some transportation providers that seemed to do the route that I was interested in and I solicited bids from them noting that timing was not an issue to me, but that quality was. I received several bids fairly quickly and consummated a deal within 48 hours of posting my job. The price I paid was very fair and beat what any of the major trucking/moving firms could have done -- I know because I also called them and got bids from them. In the future, I won't have to take the time to do that because I know that uShip rocks and I'll be getting a good deal without having to do that research. Way to go uShip!
