I am impressed with U Ship site, and believe there is a bright future ahead. Just want to comment overall, it offers a service that fit my bill. I was able to respond and inquire while on the road myself, and it worked well. Suggest using beta test subjects to use first time and provide feedback on step by step. First time users may get frustrated and give up or not return. hint. I was determined to make it work, and I was under a deadline, but my family kept asking me why I was spending so much time on UShip just to ship a motorcycle point to point. Part of reason, was attempting to respond and inquire with providors with varying delays in response - from minutes to hours and days, which makes decisions and committments difficult. Maybe offering chat or express messaging? Overall, the process is cumbersome and time consuming, yet worthwhile in the long run.
Also, I understand the need for transaction privacy and following rules, but the wording of the red flag message I received was ominous and can give user an undue negative reaction. Case in point, I referenced cross streets with regard to a delivery address, which triggered red flag, because our zip code had been split by USPS in August, and a new zip was created for our residence, which the shipper may or not find -possibly confusing or delaying quotes. I was attempting to assist shipper in estimating travel only. I was not amused nor impressed by the red flag email suggesting that a member had turned me in for not playing fair. I resented the treatment and the message wording to the point to cancelling use of UShip altogether. The message also said I would be given another chance or whatever, which is totally off base in my case and perhaps to other first time users who may unwittingly tread on your rules, with no intent or desire to do so. Something to think about. I believe that real value is created with repeat buyers. Best Regards.
