I recently purchased a rear clip (half a car) for my 91 Toyota MR2 that was to include shipping. After the sale, the seller informed me that his shipper was no longer willing to ship for them and that I would have to make my own arrangements.
I searched high and low for someone to ship my car from Albany, NY down to Florida, where I live. I tried the phone book and many, many internet sites. The few who would even consider it wanted an arm, a leg and an eyeball as well.
Then I came accross UShip. I was able to just enter the Ebay item number and all of the details for the item to be shipped where imported. Then I entered what I was willing to pay (which was the amount agreed to with the seller and later refunded to me). Several shippers bid on my shipment and finally Tom (goterdidtrans) agreed to ship it for the amount I offered, which was much lower than the norm.
I thought that at such a bargain rate I would probably get bargain service, but Tom was the complete opposite. He called me several times at each step of the way, and delivered my car, intact, under a torrential rain with a smile on his face.
I don't have enough kind words to express my satisfaction with the entire process. I know that I will certainly seek out Tom on UShip to help me in the future and I wish him much success.
