At uShip, our employees, especially software developers and engineers, like to be constantly learning and challenged as it ultimately makes them happier people and co-workers. They also like to know the company supports them exploring new interests, mastering current expertise, and being naturally curious.<\/p>\n

So in December 2017, we launched uShip University, a new program for our developers and engineers<\/strong>. It\u2019s an in-house continuing education program run by employees for employees.<\/p>\n

No mascots. No expensive textbooks. No tailgating (unless on their own time, of course).<\/p>\n

uShip University\u2019s first turnout was amazing<\/strong>. Feedback from developers is that they left excited about learning as a group, gained both personal and technical confidence, and were impressed with the preparation and approach of the course. Course homework naturally resurrected college flashbacks for many.<\/p>\n

Courses are prepared and delivered by uShip’s technical mentors from uShip\u2019s long-time in-house mentorship program. Going forward, uShip University will be held semi-monthly with staggered courses so participants can join multiple tracks.<\/p>\n
