Today is Groundhog\u2019s Day, the day where we leave winter weather predictions up to a Groundhog. The most famous of the weather predicting groundhogs is Punxsutawney Phil from Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania, and today he didn\u2019t see his shadow, predicting an early spring.<\/p>\n
Earlier springs may be welcome to prevent some truckers from weather related fines if a new Pennsylvania bill passes. In Punxsutawney Phil\u2019s home state of Pennsylvania, State Senator Lisa Boscola reintroduced a bill that would require snow and ice to be removed from tractor-trailers or drivers should face a fine.<\/span><\/p>\n According to Senate Bill 94, law enforcement officers would have authority to stop truckers if they feel that accumulated snow and ice posed a threat to others.<\/p>\n >A current law exists with fines for all drivers who injure others due to snow or ice falling from their vehicles. Fines for that range from $200 to $1,000.<\/p>\n Senate Bill 94 would increase the maximum to $1,500.
