As festival season hits full swing, our friends over at Everfest<\/a> got to wondering how all the outlandish and enormous art installations find their way to festivals like Burning Man<\/a>.<\/p>\n

We sat down to do a little digging – below are some of the coolest items ever shipped to the middle of the Black Rock Desert.<\/p>\n

Art Cart<\/b><\/p>\n

We\u2019ll start small, with this quaint little piece<\/a> – not quite an art car<\/i>, this art cart makes for quick scooting around the playa. It\u2019s got a bit of a Flintstones feel!<\/p>\n

Gon Kirin, the Detroit Dragon<\/b><\/p>\n

This ferocious found art is part<\/a> of an environmental education organization in Detroit built off a 1964 Dodge chassis.<\/p>\n

Desert Sleigh<\/b><\/p>\n

Built off a Cushman Titan electric airport baggage vehicle, this piece sure delivered gifts to camps all over the playa.<\/a><\/p>\n

Totally Boring Normal Transport<\/b><\/p>\n

Well, we can\u2019t all<\/i> have super sweet art cars, I guess. Some folks have shipped much more \u201cnormal\u201d items\u2026<\/p>\n

The Mystery of Burning Man<\/b><\/p>\n

We also noticed that some interesting questions can arise when shipping the odd and extraordinary.<\/p>\n

For example, this trailer has such a mysterious weight as to require four question marks:<\/p>\n

Question:<\/b> WHAT IS ON THE TRAILER THAT IS MAKING IT SO HEAVY????<\/a><\/p>\n

And then there is, of course, the fun of finding Gerlach, Nevada, at all!<\/p>\n

Question: <\/b>Where is Gerlach, NV? I can’t get GPS to find it?<\/p>\n

I guess they may have to stick to easier-to-find music festivals<\/a>.<\/p>\n

We also came across this collection of art cars, some for Burning Man, some not – but definitely cool – listed on uShip:<\/p>\n
