In 2005, she joined the then-two-year-old uShip as a PR and customer service intern; today, she oversees human resources, recruiting, facilities, customer operations, member support, legal, trust and safety, and uShip\u2019s on-site kitchen operation. Heather is also a two-time <em>Austin Business Journal<\/em> Profiles in Power finalist.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhen you look at Kris&#8217;s 20-year technology experience, it&#8217;s clear he&#8217;s uniquely qualified to lead uShip forward,\u201d said <strong>Jim Martell<\/strong>, executive chairman of uShip\u2019s board of directors. \u201cHe\u2019s held key leadership roles at both public and private companies, and over the last year and a half as uShip\u2019s CTO, he\u2019s continued to prove his leadership within the executive leadership team.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere\u2019s perhaps no one more suited and deserving of uShip\u2019s COO role than Heather Hoover-Salomon,\u201d said Martell. \u201cHer intern-to-COO journey is a testament to her energy, leadership, and knowledge across virtually every facet of this company.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/Inwiv4Mbdug\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-11260 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/ushipblogsubd.wpengine.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/02\/Women-of-Trucking-Heather.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"790\" height=\"506\" srcset=\"https:\/\/ushipblogsubd.wpengine.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/02\/Women-of-Trucking-Heather.png 790w, https:\/\/ushipblogsubd.wpengine.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/02\/Women-of-Trucking-Heather-300x192.png 300w, https:\/\/ushipblogsubd.wpengine.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/02\/Women-of-Trucking-Heather-768x492.png 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 790px) 100vw, 790px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Since joining uShip in 2017 as CTO, Lamb has quickly organized uShip\u2019s engineering, product, and development teams into a high-performing organization today. He\u2019s led the company\u2019s migration to the cloud, which is helping make products and services available to shippers and carriers more quickly and at better quality.<\/p>\n<p>Before uShip, Lamb was vice president and general manager of cloud security at Austin-based Forcepoint, and has held leadership roles in engineering, product management, enterprise software, security, cloud\/hosting, SMB, and mobility at both public and private companies.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is really a dream come true for me when you consider how technology is transforming logistics today,\u201d said Lamb. \u201cSo it\u2019s truly exciting to lead a 15-year-old technology platform that\u2019s innovating and digitizing how oversized items get shipped.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-6985 size-large\" src=\"https:\/\/ushipblogsubd.wpengine.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/5-1024x354.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"640\" height=\"221\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Since 2004, uShip has accumulated over 6.1 million consumer and business shippers who have listed 9.1 million large and bulky shipments for transport. Each month the company digitally obtains over 2,000 companies who use the marketplace to move their business freight.<\/p>\n<p>uShip currently has more than 41,000 active service providers in its network. Recent surveys by uShip show that of those in its carrier network:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>96% operate less than 5 trucks and 46 percent operate one vehicle.<\/li>\n<li>95% have a box truck, enclosed trailer or transit\/sprinter van<\/li>\n<li>66% are In-Home Delivery carriers.
