Hi, I will be happy to pickup Munchkin from the Minneapolis Airport (SEA) and deliver him to the London Heathrow Airport (LHR) that same day! Any personal items of his can be brought such as cat beds, kennels, feeding bowls, food, paper work etc. Munchkin would be in my direct care the whole time, no lonely cargo bins! Transported in the passenger cabin of a commercial aircraft. Please let me know if you have any questions, thanks for considering my bid, and feel free to check my feedback! I also provide the airline approved pet carrier for transport. A full itinerary of flight #'s, times, and dates will be provided upon acceptance of the bid. The carrier will be right by me the whole 8 hour flight. The plane departs Minneapolis at 9:40PM on the 11th and arrives at 12:00PM on the 12th. A direct flight in a temperature controlled cabin, I am a professional personal pet escort!
I would much rather have him travel in the cabin than as cargo but am not sure about the size and weight restrictions for that. He's a large cat--about 15 - 16 pounds.
Having someone escort him would be much better than what I've been able to arrange for unescorted travel, but before I accept your bid it would help me to know a few additional things like whether you've ever escorted pets into the UK under the Defra PETS scheme. They have some very specific requirements you'd need to be prepared for, including some documents my vet would supply.
If you can give me a phone number I will call you via Skype to discuss these sorts of details. But for now, can you give me more information on exactly what is covered by your bid so I can budget appropriately and what airlines you would plan to use? Some are accepted for the PETS scheme for cargo but I'm not sure if there are restrictions for cabin transport. Thanks!
Hi Deety, is you name Deety? Munchkin and I would be flying Delta Airlines, an approved Non EU commercial airlines AND an approved route from MSP - LHR. There are no restrictions regarding pets in cabin. I have in the past taken 2 Savannah Cats through UK customs without a problem. When deplaning I simply declare that I have an animal with me, show the appropriate paperwork, and then we are free to leave. We could meet you at the arrival hall. I made sure that the owner and I met all the proper criteria before leaving the US. As you've said you have already prepared many of these.
1. A Microchip
2. Third country official veterinary certificate for non-commercial movements (Regulation (EC) No 998/2003)”.
3. Blood test to prove rabies vaccination worked (antibody titre present)
4. 24 hours before departure treatment against parasites.
I will be happy to work with you vet in arranging the proper paperwork and driving Munchkin to any necessary vet appointments. Unfortunately we can no
Sorry, I realised just after sending my previous communication that uship rules might not permit phone contact until a bid has been accepted. I'm just about ready to do that, but would like a bit more information from you (see below).
And I didn't mean it to sound as if this would be a dauntingly difficult task, but the UK does have very specific requirements which airlines check up on so I want to make sure you're either already familiar with them or that I tell you what I've learned over the last 6 months so you can answer any questions raised in the transport process. If you can let me know whether you've ever transported a pet to the UK under the PETS scheme that would help a great deal.
I also have thought of another question--if I pay the fees for excess baggage, could you bring along some of the things I had to leave behind when I moved here if I can get them packed up and transported to the airport with the cat? My response to your bid is not contingent on your answer.
t communicate off of U-ship until the bid is accepted. GOOD news, I can bring along 3 free checked bags up to 50lbs, so no need to pay the fees. I understand the specific requirements and would hate to have him quarantined. I promise to bring, help prepare, and show all necessary documents.
