Drain fuel and water tanks in boats to no more than 1/4 of their capacity before shipping. Depending on the size of your boat, you will need to take steps to reduce its size while in transit. This includes disassembling masts and in some cases removing cockpits. Stow and secure all loose items aboard the boat and in cabins. Disconnect the battery and close and lock all ports, hatches and windows. If your boat is being delivered to a launch site, check the hull thoroughly for watertightness before launch, and be sure you have all required safety equipment.
