Bid competitively - You are able to review all active bids on a shipment. To win your first job, you may have to bid at or below the lowest bid. Remember, once you win your first job and receive positive feedback, you will be able to win future jobs at a higher profit, because customers will know you can do a great job.
Be proactive in asking questions - Use the Q&A on the shipment listing to communicate with the shipper and see if your services match their needs. Frequent, professional communication with a customer will encourage them to accept your bid.
Tip: You may not post direct contact information to the Q&A board. Doing so violates uShip's user agreement, and you will be flagged and potentially suspended from uShip. uShip offers many ways for you to communicate with a shipper before a match, and you will receive direct contact information once a customer has accepted your bid.
Complete your profile - Even if you don't have feedback, you can use your profile to market yourself and your services. Service Providers with complete profiles are more likely to match with a customer. Add pictures of your equipment and/or your staff, a description of your services, and any licenses or insurance information. You can edit your profile from My uShip.
