Additional Information: the current owner of this trans has no way of dragging a pallet home to be used for shipping. the best he can do is to wrap it up in a bunch of cardboard. i really need someone that is willing to strap it to a pallet and either drop it off at a shipping dock in the area, or bring it to me. if you have any suggestion, i'm listening... Report a Violation

Question: Would you consider shipping terminal to terminal to avoid the residential and lift gate fees? Terminals will unload and load for shipper / receiver. Terminal locations are in Sun Valley, CA and Houston, TX or VERNON, CA and HOUSTON, TX (depending on the carrier used). Total cost would be $263.00. If this is possible let me know and I will enter an official bid. (7/31/2008)

Response: Your best bet is to strap the transmission to a pallet to allow the carrier to move the transmission using a forklift or pallet jack. (8/1/2008)

Response: the main trouble is that the guy in arleta that has the trans does not have a way of taking it,and a pallet to a loading dock. he has had trouble with other u-shippers saying they would pick stuff up for shipping-but they don't usually arrive at the agreedupon time. so in the mean time the trans limbo-got any ideas that don't cost an arm and a leg? Response: understand but even if shipper could make a small skid / pallet would be fine ... transmission must be within the footprint not over hanging ... as long as driver can get under & handle with palet jack ... then PU is normally within 1-3 days following readiness date ... you should relist item & send me a request to bid ... . Response: hi joe-how would this work? are going to the guy's house and pick up the tranny, strap it to a pallet and drop it off at a local terminal? there was a guy that said there was a shipping dock in sun valley. i think that is close. is that what you have in mind? what would be your cost? how much time do i have to get a terminal shipper's bid? how do you get paid? Response: hi joe-i got a shipping bid today that looks good. but there is a problem- if i accept your bid for packing and drop off to the dock, i can't accept his bid for shipping. once i accept one bid the other is lock out. so what i was thinking was...i'll call the guy with the tranny and get him to pay you after you bring something back from the shipping dock. the dock should give you something for paperwork. let me know what you think.
