Additional Information:
I was traveling across country in december and because of the weather and the weight i had to leave my camper trailer in Rawlins WY. I need it brought to utah. specifically West Valley.. or atleast close. i could come pick it up near I-80 if needed. it is full of my stuff at a storage place. it was loaded wrong or something cause it kept swaying at 40MPH.. it would probably need to be put on a flatbed to get it here. i need it picked yp around the 10th of may or so.. i get paid on the 9th and it HAS TO BE OUT OF THE STORAGE ASAP. they are tearing out the place i have it stored and if its not gone soon they will junk it or sell it.. it has all my clothes and stuff in it..
Questions for this shipment:
Question:
I will be returning from Chicago IL to SLC on about the 9th of may and could put your trailer on my 22' flatbed. Pickup may be a day or two later that the 9th as I am not sure when I will finish the project in Chicago. If you can work with this timeframe, I will place a bid. thanx mallitov (4/29/2008)
Response:
that timing is fine.. i get paid on the 9th.. so any time right around then is good.. go ahead and bid.. will it fit on your flat bed truck and how will you get it on? (5/1/2008)
Response:
Yes it will fit on my flatbed and it tilts down for access. I can then either winch it on or I will have eight strong young men with me to push it on. Here is my bid, thanx mallitov (5/1/2008)
Response:
can you do it any cheaper? (5/1/2008)
Response:
Not really, especially if it takes an act of Congress to get it on my flatbed. I was going to say that I may need to charge extra if it is especially difficult, but I shouldn't need to. I will be surprised if I have much difficulty getting it on board I'm pretty resourceful. thanxmallitov (5/1/2008)
Response:
well im going to have to wait and see if i get a lower bid.. (5/1/2008)
Response:
I'm sorry. Before I head back I will look at the listing again and maybe I can do for less if I have empty space. I understand limited budget, I live with it every day, God Bless. mallitov (5/1/2008)
Response:
thanks!!!!!!! (5/1/2008)
Question:
I have been watching this shipment with some interest. I will start by saying that you have a very reasonable bid from my colleage (Mallitov) above. By reading your guy's conversation it appears that you are looking for a better price. Under ideal circumstances, I may be able to offer you one, but not a whole lot better. I do have room on a return trip from Nebraska for this trailer. If it indeed only 10' long from toungue to back of the trailer, and if you have someone available in Rawlins to back the trailer onto my trailer, and if you have a unit to pull it back off with in SLC for the unload. Then I would be able to offer a rate of $286, if it could be loaded when I come through which would probably be the 8th. I am waiting for my main load to be manufactured, and we anticipate it will be ready to load in Nebraska on Tuesday. If so, I could delay one day to pick up the 8th. Please let me know if this looks possible to you. Kevin (Big Sky Transport) (5/1/2008)
Question:
I needed to update my previous post. I have filled the truck coming through on 5/8. However, it looks like we will have room on a later truck running through the week of 5/12 from the same manufacturer going the same route. This might work better for both of us. If you can get a pickup on both ends to load and unload, let me know and I can place the bid. Thanks, Kevin (Big Sky Transport) (5/2/2008)
Question:
what kind of vehicle were you towing it with? i ask because if it was a car or small pick up, we might be able to tow it with our larger pick up (3/4ton chevy) safely without it swaying. (5/3/2008)
Response:
i was pulling it with a jeep cherokee laredo.. not sure if a biggert vehicle would make a differance or not.. it is way over full.. but im not sure.. like i said it started swaying at 40mph.. i was going to rent a uhaul and go out and unloadit into the uhaul and pull it back but its will cost more for me to do that than top have someone else put it on a trailer and bring it to me.. (5/3/2008)
Response:
there should be no problem with our truck then. i will go ahead and bid! thanks. (5/4/2008)
Question:
Sounds to me like the trailer is loaded back-heavy. If you have more weight behind the axle(s) than in front, it will fishtail, I don't care if you are pulling it with a 5 ton semi. If it can be reloaded to change the weight disburesement it should pull fine. Unless it has other problems, however the size of the truck pulling it would have nothing to do with how it trails while pulling. Braking is another matter. (5/5/2008)
Question:
that is also true about the weight distribution, but the vehicle does play a role as well in our experience. either way, if we can open the trailer and put some of the heavier item in the bed of the truck, we can help. (5/5/2008)
Response:
im not sure.. the trailer is a mess.. it wasnt loaded to haul it was just thrown in there.. there are a few heavy things that you could possibly take out.. i dont know about the distribution factor.. some people tell me to put the weight in the back some say put it in the front.. im not sure what to do..if you really think you can pull iut with your truck then... well.. i will take your bid.. when were you able to get it?? (5/5/2008)
Question:
I would have to double check to make sure but I am thinking it would be Sunday or Monday (a week from today) I am leaving on Friday and I MAY get there Saturday, but I think Sunday or Monday is more realistic. Does this work? I would still want you to meet me on 80 as I specified in the bid. And if it does need to be repacked or any items unloaded into the bed of the pickup it will be an extra 20-40 dollars depending on how long it takes. Don't worry, I don't want to do it either! And I will be fair and honest about it. Is this acceptable? (5/5/2008)
Question:
I will be taking 80 all the way to California so anywhere that is convenient for you will be fine. You pick an exit or rest stop (preferably) and I will meet you there. What would you say the heaviest item weighs? I am not a big muscle bound man so I want to make sure I can handle it! =) I will def be able to pick it up on or by the 12th... As long as no unexpected problems arise! (5/5/2008)
Response:
well the heaviest item is probably my 3 well steam table.. but i moved it myself.. and im a fat boy.. ha ha ha... it has to be picked up by the 12th cause thats as far as i have the rent for the spot paid till... there is no rest area near me and I80... i think the best place to meet would be at a gas station just off I-80 and Redwood Road i believe its mile marker 117.. but not positive (5/5/2008)
Question:
Any exit is fine with me. If you can just verify the number before I get there that would be great. As long as you are fine with the potential extra charge for moving things if it is swaying too much on me... Everything sounds good to me. I need to know what kinds of connector the trailer needs and also what size ball. (5/5/2008)

Response:
it has the flat 4 light connector and it takes a 2" ball (5/6/2008)
Response:
i just went to uhaul and bought the flat 4 adaptor, and i already have a 2" ball. i will rebid. i just lost a shipment that i was counting on (the person lost the ebay auction even though they had listed in their uship ad that it was already won!)... so i have to refigure some things and make sure i can still make the trip out of the way to get to your trailer and help you out. i will rebid as soon as i get that all worked out. give me just a few minutes. thanks (5/6/2008)
