Questions for this shipment:

Question: hello and thank you for request to bid. What is the size of the storage unit? You indicetaed the space reservation volume of 1300 c/f and the same 1300 lbs. I beleve there is a mistake as 13000 lbs is close to 2000 c/f of space reservation. Can you clearify that? (4/28/2008)
Response: Hello; glad you have some interest. You can discern I'm new at this. I'm now in Biloxi, stuff in Florida. But I'm going there Wednesday and will have much better detailed info, photos, etc. As for my listing: The storage unit is 10'w x 10'h and 20' long....HOWEVER, my best guesstimate until I'm there again is that the cubic space USED is about 60-65 (max) % used; and it is NOT packed efficiently. As for weight, I'm guessing what I think might be an average weight for that volume of average, asssorted household items. I have NO bedroom furniture, but heavy dining room stuff makes up for that. No couch, I think only 1 LR chair, no coffee table but 2-3 small side tables... Part of pots/pans already moved, as are foodstuffs, spices, canned food, 1 set utensils.etc. BTW, if I were to try to do this myself with a rental truck, I am convinced 16' truck would work but I'd probably rent 22' on conservative side. What else can I tell that would be helpful? (4/28/2008)
Response: thank you for getting back. 16 foot truck holds 850 c/f of space reservation .10x10x20 60% full ,is 1200 c/f.To give a fair quote , i need to know the volume, (4/28/2008)
Response: I'm so glad you responded. Would it be possible to wait until tomorrow (Wednesday) or Thursday? Either I might get a family member tonight who is capable of estimations; or I'll be in Florida Thursday and can do that or get whatever help I'd need to make a logical/reasonable estimation of volume. (4/29/2008)
Response: ok (4/29/2008)
Response: Saturday: Have worked in storage; better knowledge of space now. Using MAX of 1300 CuFt, est. weight 4500 to 5500 lbs. I Note: I have updated much info on my listing. Please check and let me know if you need more info. Now that I've been to the space, I can answer more precisely. (5/3/2008)
Response: thanks, my bid would be more than you curently have (5/3/2008)
Response: I see that. However, the current bid was based on a 10 x 10 space; my CuFt USED is more than 1000; closer 1200; possibly 1300 MAXIMUM. What about that? Any bid? (5/3/2008)
Response: 1200 c/f would be $3050 (5/3/2008)
Response: Hi, and thank you for your continuing efforts to help me. It sounds as if you would be hauling only my shipment, and no other with it; thus, the high bid. Is that true? At any rate, I must search for a hauler who can combine shipments so my costs will be affordable for my budget. (5/4/2008)
Question: Hello, I am interested in bidding on your load,I have a 24 ft box truck. Are you going to need help unloading at the destination, and if so what are it's logistics...Thank you (4/29/2008)
Response: Hi "sapmut," Probably I will need help unloading; will depend on time of day, day of week, whether any fellow renters here would be home and available to enlist. I do have a concern, though, about your using a 24' box truck. Would that be the only shipment you could handle at that one time? If so, I suspect I could not afford to reimburse your total costs plus a reasonable profit. I have looked into U-Haul and the likes, and I cannot afford that....as you would immediately know...fuel costs! But don't let me make your decision for you; you haul, and I do not. If I can answer more questions, send 'em to me! and thanks for your interest! (4/29/2008)
Response: Hello,I will wait till Thursday to see what you need for space.I have this 24 ft truck going to Louisianna from Tampa soon.and I can give you a great rate, but it depends on what you would like to haul and what insurance coverage you want.I have an additioinal man to help load/unload as needed at an additional charge, but it shouldn't break the bank.Uhaul charges ridiculous rates...I will keep in touch...Thank you (4/29/2008)
Response: Now SAT. Have been to storage space and have updated my listing accordingly. What I want hauled is assorted household goods: boxed goods and unboxed furniture. Please read my updated listing details and let me hear from you again. I hope we can make a deal. P.S. I probably will want full-value (or whatever it's called) insurance. (5/3/2008)
Question: Thanks for the request, not able to meet your time frame. (4/29/2008)
Response: OK, thanks. (5/4/2008)
Question: I have 7 pieces of furniture that needs to go to my home in Ocean Springs from Port Saint Lucie, Fl. The furniture is listed on uship. If you get a uhaul maybe we can combine shipping to save us both monies or if you get a shipper he can pick up my stuff also. (5/1/2008)
Response: I am not getting a U-Haul. I could attempt to re-contact you if/when I obtain and accept a firm bid. It would be strictly between you and the hauler; I am not even sure I could tell the hauler about you. I would try to contact you....and you could then contact the hauler. (5/3/2008)
Question: Hello, we can have your 10x10 storage space moved for $1150.00. (5/3/2008)
Response: My program is not indicating whether my response, today, to your bid has been posted for me or whether you might have received it. So I'm trying again. Please read my updated shipping info on my listing, and see if you want to submit a higher bid. My space is more like 10 x 10 x 12 or 13. Thanks (5/3/2008)
Response: Thanks, I reading it now. (5/3/2008)
Response: got it (5/4/2008)
Response: Got your answer. Thanks (5/4/2008)
Response: to apromover: Because I've been traveling (to be sure my stored items are in best shape I can make them for convenient loading/unloading, etc.), my daughter has carried on some of my communications with you, in my behalf. However, yesterday when I returned home from FL (Tuesday evening), she and I agreed we would want you to do my job. I have left you a message to see if you will re-bid with new dates. The LATEST DELIVERY I can take is May 19 (to be completed/unloaded that day). If you still have interest, please let me know; and if not, I will then go ahead and take another of my bidders. Thanks, linniewv (5/8/2008)
Question: I can bid just $100.00 more to $1250.00. (5/3/2008)
Response: Can you give me specifics on a firm bid of $1250? I suppose the usual: Any reasons for some costs above the $1250 and what those rates would be; Insurance you provide and additional you COULD provide if I need; any work you would expect of my rep or me at either end; dates for pick-up and delivery; and whatever else we should contract.... Upon receiving full information of your bid, I will be able to make a decision. And I do appreciate your continuing efforts to help. (5/4/2008)
Response: I will be able to get you a contract with all the terms upon acceptance of the bid. It will show that we do all loading and unloading of the truck, the fees include all gas, tolls, wrapping and pading. (5/5/2008)
Response: Oh, I noticed your terms about wrapping and padding. That would be needed for protection of furniture pieces and some miscellaneous items. Items that could be boxed are well packed and boxed....unless some one or few items remain in back of storage unit where I cannot see them or get to them now. Was that what you mean about "wrapping and padding," just the large items and others that cannot be packed into boxes?? (5/5/2008)
Response: Hello again, we offer full service moves. Whatever we see that we need to protect for the trip we will. We do that for you, but also for us as well. We try our best to make sure that you get your things in the same condition that we got them from you. (5/6/2008)
Response: Your answer above is still active on "My uShip" page. But I believe you do not have a bid active for me. Let me know, please. (5/8/2008)
Question: Hi, I have written in to you the new bid amount. (5/3/2008)
Response: OK. we're communicating. (5/4/2008)
Response: Just so you will know, we aren't in front of the computer all day so there are times that there will be a period where you won't get an quick answer. (5/4/2008)
Response: Sure. Me, too, of course. (5/5/2008)
Response: Thanks (5/5/2008)
Response: Now, (around noon Eastern Time), I must spend the remainder of today and early tomorrow morning in my return trip to Mississippi (and pick up my 14-year-old golden retriever). Thus, further communication re your bid probably will be delayed until late tonight, early-early tomorrow (Tuesday) morning, or mid-day Tuesday. Because you have provided SOME additional contracting info, I am becoming better able to understand what your bid is offering, and I still have much interest. Thanks. (5/5/2008)
Response: Thank you and I will wait to hear back from you. (5/5/2008)
Response: I would like you to resubit you bid please. It expired at noon today and I was travelling and would like to accept your bid if the time frame will still work. Sorry for the confusion. If you need to change the time frame, please include in your rebid. Thank you. (5/7/2008)
Question: Hi I have been looking at your situation and I think I can help if my time frame and price works for you, I have a 24' by 8' by 8' box truck so based on your estimate I would need to dedicate 20' of the truck for you, which leaves me enough room for the few other pieces I have to deliver. Also if I run out of room I am able to pull a trailer behind my truck that would give me an additional 12*6*6 if need, I would have to pick up Sunday 05/18 with delivery the following weekend 05/24-25 this is one week later than you requested but it is the best I can do, I would be able to do this job for $1500 before you chose a shipper to do this job, please check their profile and feedback, thanks for your consideration, please let me know if this works for you and I will place my bid, due to the fact this will fill most of my truck if you decide to go with me once I place my bid please accept as soon as possible to ensure your space on the truck. Thanks Dave (dmjfurniture) (5/4/2008)
Response: to dmifurniture: I'm not sure if I let you know for sure I cannot delay shipment of my goods to match your required schedule. I do appreciate your efforts to help me. linniewv (5/8/2008)
Response: No problem, good luck with your shipment, if things change keep me in mind. Dave (5/8/2008)
Response: OK. I think I've responded, but this web page shows an answer space. Thanks for your continued interest. I still must get my items here to Biloxi before May 20. (5/8/2008)
Question: Hey shipper twice you have ask for a bid and twice I have taken the time to send one both times you let the bid expire. My bid is not going to change. I have offered a fair price for a safe and secure transport of your items. when your ready to accept let me know and I will be glad to send a bid if I am still available for your time-frame. Thanks Jeff (5/4/2008)
Response: I thought I had responded; apologize to you. My adult daughter is arriving in Mississippi May 20 from San Antonio, expressly to help me with set-up and organization of my new apartment. She cannot delay until the date you have available. I do appreciate your bid and your offering your information. (5/5/2008)
Response: My pickup and delivery dates are within the dates you have posted . what dates would you like to use ? Thanks Jeff (5/5/2008)
Response: Getitfast: It's noon Thursday, May 8, and I just noticed your message above. If I had not answered, I'm answering now. Are you still interested? I was about to accept another bid but have not heard from that party. ...If you are still interested, let me know so I can respond to your bid formally. (5/8/2008)
Question: yes we set everyting up for the shipper (5/5/2008)
Response: OK. That sounds good. Now: I believe you wrote that you already have hauling experience;... just new to U-SHIP. Is that true? Then do you have any way I could verify anything about your reputation, feedback from previous work, whatever? (5/5/2008)
