Would you like a bid to go in a 26ft truck? When will it be ready? Thanks. Report a Violation
Response: Sure, truck is great. Time is not as important as cost, could be ready within a week or wait several months.Cost is my biggest consern..12/10/2009Report a Violation
Response: I have to go to NY right away if a deposit is wired tomorrow, if not I can live in 4 days for another job but not much later. If can load tomorrow then I will do it for $1500. You provide the loading help, I will tie and wrap. 12/10/2009Report a Violation
Response: Where are you now? Are you talking about loading the thundergull tomorrow? Its in the state of washington. How much deposit is required?12/10/2009Report a Violation
Response: I am in WA near Seattle where I live. Any amounts over $1000 I require payment on thirds. 1/3 on accepting bid, 1/3 on loading, rest on delivery. You will have to wire it to my bank or ifyou have a family menber here they can give me a personal check if is from a WA account.12/10/2009Report a Violation
Sir, will be making trip from Tacoma area to Angola IN the week between Christmas and New Years with custom enclosed trailer. Is your model a Gull, Soaring Gull, or Odyssey? ThanksReport a Violation
Response: Its a single place gull 2000,fat ultralight.24' wing with a 2706 hirth(prop would be removed)12/11/2009Report a Violation
Response: Gull website lists the aircraft at 18 ft long, is this correct for yours? Height wouldn't be a problem, but just trying to make sure it would fit in 24 ft trailer. Presume the wing easily removes? Thanks12/11/2009Report a Violation
Response: The wing is off the airplane now.The wing on this plane is 24 feet (if you want I could have them measure it for an exact ") with the drop tips it might be over a little over 24'? 12/12/2009Report a Violation
Response: Placed at an angle, wing will fit. But want to be sure on the overall fuselage length before I place a bid--please verify exact length end to end. I'm fairly certain its not over 19 ft. Thanks ~btl PS - do you live in Angola? We have a small farm over by Pleasant Lake.12/12/2009Report a Violation
Response: I live about 6 miles from Angola,in the Metz area. Will try to get exact length of plane and wing.I dont know if the wing could be "hung" from the top of the trailer.Or hung on the side of the trailer??? You know better than I do.12/12/2009Report a Violation
Response: Wing won't be a problem; thanks for following up on the fuselage length.12/12/2009Report a Violation
Response: Waiting on the current owners to get back with me.From my spec. sheet the single seat gull 2000 is 18'3".Also the soaring gull and the odyssey are the same.Would like to be sure though!12/12/2009Report a Violation
Response: In an earlier post you said that cost is a primary concern--my bid ($1550) would be similar to the first one you received, with payment upon delivery. Don't know if this is within your budget, but thought I better get that out there before we get too far along. ~btl 12/12/2009Report a Violation
Response: 1550.00 is a fair price,I was hopeing for something closer to 1200.00. Might be best to put off the move until spring, and relist then..Thank you for your consideration..12/13/2009Report a Violation
Response: Would you be willing to split the difference at 1375? Trip out to WA and then back begins this Fri, will be taking I-40 to see family & avoid the weather/mountains. Probably could make more hauling cars on two drops, but your end destination is within 20 miles of mine, which is appealing. Will add that I'm in the military, 15 yrs an aircraft mech, and have a few hrs in 172 Cessnas, just in case you're concerned with handling experience. Think it over, and if it doesn't work for you, no worries and blue skies. ~btl12/13/2009Report a Violation
Response: That price would work for me.Before you bid is there any other costs to me for this haul?? What day/days would be best for pickup of the plane? I want to make sure it works for the current owners of the plane.Would you be able to transport moneyorder/bank funds to them to give to them at the time of pickup? I think these people are good but you never know, hate to just send funds without seeing the actual plane..I'm looking into other options so this might not be required.I'm still waiting on them for wing and nose to tail length. If this works I would need your info:insurance, company info, etc, etc. Thanks again, Mike12/13/2009Report a Violation
Response: Estimate pickup would be 24-26 Dec; $1375 is total cost. As for company name, I'm not in the business of being a full time transporter. I haul for folks when I'm already going a certain direction for my own reason, such as this trip to WA, and thus can offer a more reasonable price and personal service than those strictly hauling for profit. I do not carry commercial insurance, but do carry reserves that can make good should anything ever happen. One or two customers in the past have purchased trip insurance, but I'm unfamiliar with how much it would cost per the replacement valuation of the item. As I've told folks before, if you can't sleep without it, than the right decision is purchasing the insurance or going with a commercial transporter. With commercial, you'll just pay for it upfront in the added contract price, and you likely won't be dealing with the person who'll actually pick up the item. Hope this helps Mike, and understand completely whichever road you choose. ~btl12/13/2009Report a Violation
Response: Just got an email from the owners: wing is exactly 24' the plane is 19'3" long. The tail is 88 and 1/4" wide, and 52" tall. Prop hight is 79" tall from the ground if not removed. I'm going to ask the owners if Dec.24/26 would be ok.12/13/2009Report a Violation
Response: Height is no problem, tail width will be close but will be fine. I can be flexible as to time of day for pick up, and will have a better idea on the exact date once I'm West. My activity in Tacoma will last a full day, then I plan to make the return trip ASAP. You'd ask before if I would carry payment--I generally don't do that, and leave that between the buyer & seller. ~btl12/13/2009Report a Violation
Response: Hi chaser ,I just received an email from the owners of the airplane seems 24-26 will do.They did mention that the road to there house gets tricky if they get ice. They also said they could meet you in town so you could follow them.I guess mapquest sometimes gets there address wrong. The plane and wing must be packed with care! I have saved a long time to get to this point. Hope this works out! Mike12/15/2009Report a Violation
