Questions for this shipment:
Question:
Hi! Check Out My Feedback By Clicking On My Name! Is This Ready To Go Now? Are You Sure About The Weight? Does It Include Boat And All Accessories? What Are Your Deadlines For Pickup And Delivery? What Days And Hours Can Pickup And Dropoff Be Done? Please Let Me Know Right Away So I Can Submit My Low Bid! Thanks! Dave (1/5/2008)
Response:
The weight is for the boat itself. The accessories weigh very little (I'm guessing 10 more pounds). The acessories (mast, sail, rudder) all fit in a canvas bag, not much bigger than a bag for skis. Everything is ready for pick-up at any time (preferably daylight hours) 7 days a week. No rush either. If it saves money, I'm happy to wait a couple of months. Thanks! (1/6/2008)
Response:
Hi! Thanks For Your Quick Reply! If You Are Flexible And Not In A Big Rush I Can Pick This Up When In North NJ And Bring Along To You When In Seattle In Next Month Or Two For $799 Cash Up Front! I Will Need Help Loading And Unlaoding! Let Me Know If This Works For You And I'll Submit My Bid So I Can Schedule You And Plan My Trip! Thanks! Dave (1/6/2008)
Response:
I will get back to you as soon as I hear from the other shippers that have asked me questions, etc. Thanks, and speak to you soon. (1/7/2008)
Response:
Hi! Thanks For Your Reply! I'll Wait To Hear From You Then! Dave (1/7/2008)
Response:
Hi Dave, A couple of questions... How would you plan on loading the boat, on a roof rack, inside an enclosed trailer, on an open trailer, etc? Also, how many times would you anticipate the boat being loaded and unloaded? Thanks! (1/7/2008)
Question:
where is the boat from brick nj we have a truck loading a large boat there in the morning going to washingtion (1/6/2008)
Response:
The boat is in West Orange, NJ. I could pick up the boat anywhere in Washington if you aren't delivering the other boat to Seattle. Thanks. (1/7/2008)
Question:
Is it on a trailer It looks like it is in the picture?? (1/7/2008)
Response:
No trailer. Also, the mast is removeable, and brakes apart into 2 pieces, so that it is easy to carry. Thanks. (1/7/2008)
Question:
FYI - bid rated as per posting info: “Residential to Residential” service for both ... Shipper to bring item(s) to curbside & to assist with loading & Consignee to receive item(s) at curbside & to assist with unloading ... Do you have any questions or require rate clarification? If so, then please ask … THX (1/9/2008)
Question:
FYI - have noticed there has been no other service offers since original bid was declined. Due to this fact perhaps you may wish to reconsider previous TSP. Am willing to be considerate on rate to accommodate your posted need. (I used to be an avid dingy sailer back in my younger days) ... Do you still need this item to be shipped? ... kindly advise either way / THX (1/14/2008)
Response:
I still want the boat shipped. My issue is that I want there to be as few loads/unloads as possible. I am concerned that the boat is more likely to get injured every time it is handled. I've used freight shippers before, and even solid/sturdy items have been managed to be injured. Also, I think the price is a bit high for freight service. For close to my "top price" I would like the boat treated with almost "white gloves". What are your thoughts? Thank you! (1/15/2008)
Response:
Your response is welcomed and yes, because of this shipment's particulars, I do understand your preferred desire to have it done as a "1-pick / 1-drop" scenario. None-the-less, you have an idea as to cost for common carrier service & perhaps some other comparable bids will come in for equipment / service. If you decide to ship by common carrier, then it may be a good idea to "box" up the boat with some hull wedges placed in so in this manner it will be less likely to "walk around" during transit. It isn't overly heavy so handling shouldn't be cumbesrsome if placed as "top freight only " on other leveled goods. ... Will keep an eye on this for later maybe ... THX (1/15/2008)
Response:
Hi, I'd like to accept the bid for $800 if it is still open. I couldn't find a shipper to do the job in a single pick-up and drop off scenario. If you still will take the job, I will try and wrap the boat as best I can, per your suggestion. Thank you, Adam (2/11/2008)
Response:
Understand and since some time has pasted originally quoted, will recalculate & reconsider ... will advise ...THX (2/11/2008)
Question:
Hello again ... have rebid and given consideration to the additional requirement for common carrier service in the sense it would be best to try & "box" up or if at all possible find a suitable light but long pallet to secure it too. Although a slight rate flux since the 01/14th, will hold rate as before. If you can't box up then the hard corners / chine / gunnel can be cardboard protected & shrink wrapped in bands. The other items are as you indicated in the "ditty or gear bag" ... The boat itself should be easily handled by two persons and is suitable as being loaded as "top freight". Just a matter or protecting hard corners / exposed edges, etc. ... thank you for your consideration and for inquiring again ... Regards (2/11/2008)
