Questions for this shipment:

Question: Hello! What beautiful birds! Having spent most of my life in Oregon, I have actually been to Irrigon!! We have been transporting furry/feathery loved ones for seven years now with great success. Check our feedback on this site. We recently delivered a cockatiel to Portland, Maine! What were you budgeting for this trip? Thanks for your consideration! (1/22/2006)
Response: I have no idea what this type of thing costs, but I know the airline would fly them for less than $200, but not this time of year. The weather is the only reason I can't use the airlines on these birds. I figured in my truck it would cost $175 in gas one-way, but I don't have time to go. I'm willing to look at all reasonable bids if you'd like to make one. Thanks, Lisa (1/22/2006)
Question: Thanks for responding so fast, Lisa! You are among the minority! $175 for your truck's fuel, and I would imagine you would spend something on your meal(s) along the way, not to mention lodging, as this is easily an overnight trip based on 1521 miles! We would be happy to transport your birds, door to door, for $405. This fee is all-inclusive, with no "surprise" charges upon delivery. We only use hotels that allow pets so the birds would always be inside safe and warm, considering the 70- to 80 degree requirement. They would never be left unattended for any reason. I know that this is double your airline quotes. Of course, in that scenario, the birds will be handled by any number of people, whereas I would be the only person directly responsible for them, from pick up to delivery. Thanks again for considering us for the transportation of your wonderful creatures. Let us know what you decide, will you? Bob (1/22/2006)
Question: Thanks for the bid request! One other minor detail: Can you give me the dimensions of the cage? This is an all-important detail. Forgive me for failing to ask earlier! (1/22/2006)
Response: The one container for both birds, is 19"X19"X27". (1/22/2006)
Question: Thank you. That size is definitely doable, and can certainly deliver within two days of the pick up. How is your time frame? I can pick up with in a day or so of placing the bid on February 1st. Your thoughts? (1/22/2006)
Question: Actually, as things turn out, I just had a customer postpone their delivery, so I am available to take the birds within the next couple of days. I am therefore placing the bid of $405 right now!! Thanks. Bob (1/22/2006)
Response: My time table is flexible, and the only concern is the transit time. They will be going to the vet in a couple days for the health inspection, so there is no hurry for pickup. The first week of February would do well for pickup. Let me now if that won't work. (1/22/2006)
Question: Ouch! Any chance of picking up sooner? I understand the importance of good animal health though. If the first week of February is the soonest we can pick up, then I will cancel the current bid and resubmit on the first of the month. (My bid amount won't change.) An earlier pick up really works best logistically for us. Let me know what you think. Thanks so much! (1/22/2006)
Response: I won't be able to get an earlier date for you until Monday. The earliest might be Jan 27th. I can't say for sure, I'll know more in the morning. (1/22/2006)
Question: Thanks! If January 27th is the soonest, then I will have to bid for a February pickup. However, I will wait to see what you come up with in the morning. Thanks for you patience and understanding! (1/22/2006)
Response: The first week of February will be the best. (1/22/2006)
Question: Awesome!! Then I will place the bid on February 1st at which point we will be able to discuss details on the phone with regard to dates and times, fair enough? Watch for my bid then. Thanks so much!! Bob (1/23/2006)
Question: I apologize that I did not send the bid. I am out of reach headed for California to take my wife to a pick up destination of a rig. I will be home by the tenth. We are at a hotel in NM tonight, and have internet here, so if u have ?'s, go ahead and ask away. Thanks, Bob (2/2/2006)
