Question: will the puppy be ready on monday or tuesday of this week, if so i will be going to vacaville,ca which is about 75 miles from red bluff,ca and if the new owner would like to pick the puppy up there i will work with you to get the puppy there, (7/29/2006)
Response: I apologize for not responding before now. I was unable to access my USHIP account until today (there was a problem with my user name). As it stands right now the puppy may not be ready to go until the week of August 14th. I am waiting on registration number so that the puppy can be ear tattooed. What is your schedule like next week? Response: Hello: I have contacted the puppy buyer regarding the possibility of shipping the puppy via ground transportation next week. It is basically his choice whether I ship the puppy via air or make other arrangements. The temperatures look to moderate in Nebraska next week, but will still be in the mid- to high 90's in Red Bluff. I indicated a decision needs to be made soon. I hope to hear back from him today or tomorrow. If it works out, this will be the first time I will hve used UShip to transport a puppy. I am wondering about insuring the puppy while in your possession until it is delivered/picked up. Thanks for being to patient and answering my questions. Jill Manring (8/10/2006)
Question: Jill....thank you so much for the update and we look forward to hearing back from you. How big is the puppy? We had anticipated keep him/her in the cab with us in air conditioning as we do have a Ford with crew cab. travel size kennel will fit. We would not expose him to extreme heat un-attended in the trailer. Thanks again for getting back to us. (8/10/2006)
Response: The puppy will be eight weeks old next week. The pet carrier will be 26" x 18.5" x 16" in size. It is airline travel approved and will have food and water dishes attached to the kennel door. There will be a sack of food taped to the top of the carrier. I would guess the total weight of the carrier and puppy to be around 20 pounds. Never having used ground transportation, what would be the total cost to ship the puppy to California. I would assume the individual in Red Bluff is responsible for coming to your place and to pick up the puppy. For discussion purposes, if you pick up the puppy on Wednesday when would you get to Vacaville? Thanks for the help. Jill Manring (8/10/2006)
Question: I was under the impression that the puppy needed to be delivered to Red Bluff CA as stated in the shipment request. If it is Red Bluff, we can deliver to the doorstep of person accepting puppy. (8/10/2006)
Question: To clarify..........I think the reference to vacaville came from another potential bidder who thought Red Bluff was only 75 miles from Vacaville. We are actually only 7 miles from Red Bluff which is why the shipping request caught our eye. As far as I know our bid is the only bid now on the uship website for your shipping request. Response: Thank you for bringing that to my attention. I went back and looked at the series of questions and answers and you are right, the reponse was from another bidder. I did hear back from the individual in Red Bluff that will be getting the puppy. He is interested in the possibility of ground vs. air shipping and asked a couple of questions. He was wondering how many days the puppy would be in transit. Also, what would be the total cost for delivery to his home. Question: We would hope to pick up the puppy approx 8/21 early evening and deliver 8/23 early evening. That is the plan at press time. The full cost for door to door delivery would be exactly the amount that we bid...$199.00. The puppy would never be alone or exposed to any heat or uncomfortable conditions. We have an air conditioned crew cab that puppy will be very comfortable in. Puppy will get excercise and undivided attention to its needs for the length of the trip. We are not taking on any other hauls but coming directly home after a trip to Missouri. We live just 6-7 miles from Red Bluff. Hope this helps and we are looking providing the safest, most comfortable and secure travel accomondations for this puppy. (8/13/2006)
