Questions for this shipment:

Question: do you still need this shipment moved? If so how are you looking to load and unload this? (3/24/2009)
Response: Yes. Pickup at sawmil is fork truck. The delivery site is near the town of Willow, 1/2 hour North of Anchorage. I will have a crew and small equipment to unload. I want to make the arrangements soon so I can buy the plane tickets early. I want to get there 5 days before the truck to make sure were all ready when you get here. I am flexable within a couple of weeks if needed, if decided before I buy tickets. Thanks, Dave. (3/25/2009)
Response: So you are looking for a next week pick then. Do you know the shipping hours? (3/25/2009)
Response: The wood is currently in the uven baking the water out and curing. It will not be ready for 4 weeks, but any time after that. I'm looking at the second week in May at the earliest delivery and second week in June the latest. You can pick the best time between stated dates and I will set up the rest of the job schedual around that. Delivery can very by a couple of days either way after we set a date. You can drive straight through or pick it up and hold it for a week if needed to suit your driver. I am a steel hauler from Detroit so I really understand how it goes. Thanks, Dave. (3/25/2009)
Response: sorry it states that in the additional info section. Is there anyway you can go $7200? I am assuming this will be on a flat tarped and straped. Is there anyway to find out the packaging? If not no big deal. What is the name of your company so I can see if we have you in our system? (3/25/2009)
Response: Located Detroit, Mi. 48212. [phone number removed - Once a bid is accepted, both parties’ contact info will be exchanged.] 7200 seems fair other offer is 7450. I have to leave now I will be back tomorrow, Dave. (3/25/2009)
Question: do you have any idea of real measurements for load..and does it need tarped,, i do alaska year round if hauled up there towards end of april i can keep it at my place in Tok,ak about 300 miles away and deliver it on your time frame,, i can meet your price if i now how much room it will take up or tell me the size of logs and i will figure myself.. thanks lonewolf (3/25/2009)
Question: never mind on dimentions ,,i can do this for you 3rd week in april for pick up and sit on it up there till you need it,, how is your lot in willow can youm get 70' of semi in to it or do you know,, i have people there to check it out if you dont know ,, lonewolf (3/25/2009)
Question: Dave I hope you will consider my experience and nor let this get into who beats the other by 25.00. Also, if you hire me, I will be the one handling the load, not some driver who may or may not have the experience required to get it there in one piece. Thanks, Tim (3/30/2009)
Response: Making Me Choose one or the other I See, OK. I will buy the plane tickets this week and we can narrow down dates and see how it fits in you'r schedule. Then I can committ to one of the two. Thanks, Dave. (3/31/2009)
Question: I CAN BE THERE WITH YOUR CABIN EXACTLY WHEN YOU NEED IT,,HI TIM HOWS THAT BIG PURPLE TRUCK DOIN,,SHIPPER, YOUR IN GOOD HANDS WITH EITHER ONE OF US,, WE BOTH HAVE BEEN UP THAT ROAD MANY A TIME,,HAVE A FINE DAY,,LONEWOLF (3/31/2009)
Response: Making Me Choose one or the other I See, OK. I will buy the plane tickets this week and we can narrow down dates and see how it fits in you'r schedule. Then I can committ to one of the two. Thanks, Dave (3/31/2009)
Response: ILL BE SITTING AROUND UP NORTH ALL OF MAY WORKING ON MY PLACE SO MEETING YOUR TIME FRAME WOULD BE NO PROBLEM,,AS FOR CIVILIZED//I THINK WE DO WHAT WE DO TO ESCAPE FROM IT NOW AND THEN,, HOPE ALLS WELL TIM, SEE YA UP THE ROAD,,CHUCK, LONEWOLF (3/31/2009)
Response: A new idea came up about unloading. Instead of getting more helpers, would you be interested in helping the crew unload for 100 cash at that time? (3/31/2009)
Response: the logs might be banded and can be offloaded with a little machine like a skidster,, they are very heavy logs,, i have moved oak logs before,,i see no problem in helping, just depends where you are going to put them,,next to truck or 100 yards away//i have a load going to kANSAS city on the 16th of april, think they will be ready to load by then?,,let us know, thanks lonewolf (3/31/2009)
Response: They just have to get off the truck so you can leave. Right next to the truck is all. They should be ready before that date, and I will call tomorrow and check. Now to make shure we are clear, shipment is going just north of Willow before you get to camp Caswell. The road is private off the park highway. It has a good gravel base and is wide. We are at the end, I will send you a picture when I accept bid. I am a Detroit steel hauler and know we will be good. Two other houses have been built here with no problems. Dave. (3/31/2009)
Response: TIME FOR DELIVERING IS NO CONCERN, IF HICKS CREEK IS STILL UNDER CONSTRUCTION, I HAVE TO WAIT TILL NEXT MORNING TO GET HOME ANYWAY,,WHEN WE GET AROUND A TOWN LIKE ANCHORAGE OR FAIRBANKS IT TURNS INTO A SHOPPING TRIP FOR US AND USUALLY OUR NEIGHBORS HAVE LISTS TOO,, IVE JUST BEEN INTO A FEW TIGHT,WET,AND NO PLACE TO TURN AROUND SPOTS AS TIM PROBABLY HAS TOO, SO WE CHECK THE SITUATION OUT THE BEST WE CAN, IF YOU AS A DRIVER SAY THERES ROOM ITS FINE BY ME,,THANKS DAVE,LET US KNOW,,CHUCK,LONEWOLF (4/1/2009)
Question: Hi Dave Sounds fair to me.Now that I know who the other bidder is, he is correct, we are both capable of handling it for you. I might mention that I'm a lot better looking and maybe a little more civilized as I dont live in Tok. Seriuosly though, it does all come down to sceduling and I think going about it like that makes a lot of sense. If you havent made a decision by the time my bid expires, I'll rebid to give you some more time if you need it. Thanks Tim (3/31/2009)
Response: A new idea came up about unloading. Instead of getting more helpers, would you be interested in helping the crew unload for 100 cash at that time? (3/31/2009)
Response: Dave No problem. I assume u will have a forklift there. (3/31/2009)
Response: I do not get it? A fork lift would be no problem, It would work so good I would not need help. We paln to ramp them off the side with the crew that is going to put it all together along with pullies and pickup. I do not need to have the hand from you but then I will get some one from town to help get things off so you can go. I do not plan to keep you there any longer then needed, I'm shure you have better things to do. Dave. (3/31/2009)
Response: Hey Dave Im sure you can find a forklift or a large skidsteer with forks to rent somewhere close. If I do this load for you,I'll look around next week or the week after as I will be going through there (I have drops in Anch and my shop is in Fairbanks). I think I should be able to have something lined up ahead of time. Tim PS Just curious, are you staying busy? How are rates? Things seem pretty slow down here. Talk to ya later. (4/1/2009)
Question: Dave I forgot to tell you if we rent a forklift or a skidsteer dont worry about an operator, I'll run it, whatever we end up with. Tim (4/1/2009)
Question: DAVE IT SHOULD ONLY TAKE ABOUT 30 MINUTES TO OFF LOAD THIS LOAD BY HAND,,MIGHT TAKE 3 OF US TO DO IT,,DONT WORRY ABOUT EXTRA MONEY FOR UNLOADING,, IF YOU DONT HAVE SOME RAILS OR PLANK ILL BRING SOME,,THANKS CHUCK,LONEWOLF (4/1/2009)
Question: did you get this covered yet (4/1/2009)
Response: I have it narrowed down to two allready. Thanks, Dave. (4/1/2009)
Question: Some truckers must want to go to Alaska real bad. If you can't come in the winter you are not a real trucker. (4/1/2009)
