Questions for this shipment:

Question: I am not sure I can meet your schedule due to the amount you are willing to pay. I would have to have a few more items to fill up a flatbed to make any money. I will give it a shot but I cannot make any promises. I doubt you'll get anyone to haul this at 50 cents a mile. Also, what is this machine's value? -Doc Apache Transport (4/18/2007)
Response: Hello Doc! My husband input the information on the original questionnaire. I told him he needs to change his target price because that was from a computer generated estimate. The other thing he needs to make sure is that whomever he uses has some type of insurance coverage. Also, the gentleman that we are purchasing the equipment from is willing to hold it for 2 or 3 weeks, he just needs a couple days to get it on skids before it is picked up. He can only load the equipment on a flat bed because his bobcat has to pick it up from the side, he cannot pick it up at one end. The equipment's value is $15,000. So let us know if you are insured and have a flat bed so the seller can load it for you. God Bless! Jeri & Gary (4/18/2007)
Question: Thanks for your your bid request! I currently don't have anything going that way so I would not be able to get close to your target price. Thanks. (4/18/2007)

The other thing he needs to make sure is that whomever he uses has some type of insurance coverage. He can only load the equipment on a flat bed because his bobcat has to pick it up from the side, he cannot pick it up at one end. So let us know if you might have a run coming up and a ballpark of how much it would be. Are you insured and have a flat bed so the seller can load it for you? God Bless! Jeri & Gary (4/18/2007)
Question: I am sorry but we are not in your area thank you an good luck. Jim (4/18/2007)
Question: sorry, don't have the right equipment to move your shipment, goodluck (4/18/2007)
Question: I will be in the area next week. 25th. If you get the Ins. on it, I can get it for $550. +uship fees. Uship also has Ins. (4/19/2007)
Response: We just happened to find this website so don't know anything about how uShip works. We didn't know they had fees and how would we get insurance? Could you send us your phone number so we could talk with you directly about this? Thanks, Gary (4/19/2007)
Question: Not suppose to give numbers on here. some peope do when they are new to Uship.. Uship gets 7.9% of total. So 500 would be about $40. which they bill you for. as for the Ins., Once you accept a bid, they have a spot that tells you how much on a hundred they get. The last load I hauled, was $25 to ins. for $500. if you need more questions answered, ther is also a Q an A spot under community on the home page. thanks Jay (4/19/2007)
Response: Thanks for the info Jay. This is all so new to us so your help is really appreciated. Your bid sounds good but we'd like to talk to you 'in person'. Could you send us your phone number? The insurance we were concerned with is the insurance on something happening to the equipment while your hauling it. The haulers we have talked to are bonded and have insurance to cover the load. So that is what we are concerned about. I don't know why we would need to insure the cost of the shipment??? So we are a bit confused, but if you could send us your phone number it would be easier to figure this all out. Thanks! Gary (4/19/2007)
Question: Hi. Like i said, we can't give out numbers on uship. So I will enter a bid, you accept it, an then you will have the number. IF The conditions are not to your satisfaction, you CAn retract the bid. (4/19/2007)
Response: What is the bed height of your trailer? I wrote to uship because they don't offer any information or figures on their insurance fees, so I'm waiting to hear on that. I also asked them about bid retractions since that is not mentioned anywhere in their FAQs information. The third thing is they have a promotional thing going on right now that the first transaction is free that the uship 7.9% match fee is refunded, so I'm not sure how that is suppose to work if we pay you the match fee? The weird thing is that on that page they say the refund is $10 for $100 to $500 and that certainly isn't 7.9% of $500. So I'm hoping they will give us more information tomorrow. I really appreciate you trying to help us struggle through all this. Their website needs a huge improvement on information for new users. Let us know the trailer height. Thanks again for all your help! Gary (4/19/2007)
Question: My trailer is only 20 inches . I don't worry about scratching it, so I know he can load it. If he can pick it up, I can back under it. They usually respond within 8 hours. NO, you would not pay me the fee. You only pay me the $550 (4/19/2007)
Question: Gary, you missed thisQ.Does uShip provide cargo insurance? A. Protecting your shipment is a must. Together with CNA Marine and AON Risk Services, two of the most trusted names in the insurance business, uShip is pleased to offer our community the highest quality cargo protection for their valuable goods. Some highlights of the protection include: · Low deductible of $100 for most shipments · Coverage for transport to all destinations in the USA · Superior claims processing – typically within 7-10 days · Instant online policies available to print after purchase · Coverage of declared or invoice value plus shipping cost plus 10% Please note - uShip’s cargo protection is subject to restrictions and not available on all commodities or on all bids. In addition, many service providers using the marketplace offer their own coverage and, if interested, you should inquire about their rates. Cargo insurance is an optional additiona (4/19/2007)
Response: Actually I did read that, but no where does it give any figures. They must have a basic amount they charge and they should have that listed. The problem is if the insurance we would have to purchase from them is a lot, then we'll probably have to go with a company that would charge more but has the insurance coverage included without a deductible! That is kind of bogus too as far as we're concerned unless the insurance is super cheap to have a $100 deductible? You said we wouldn't pay you the match fee, but you put it in the bid amount? This is all very confusing for us! It seems like if you put the bid amount in as $597 and we accept that, it seems like that is the amount we pay you. If it's actually $550 to you and $47 to them, it seems like it should be stated that way in the bid. I have about 2 dozen recommendations for these people to make this website better and easier to use! :} We have to wait for the insurance cost because it may end up making the total too much. Gary (4/19/2007)
Question: Gary; Also make sure it is door to door. Not to a shipping dock someplace that will cost you more. How much do you need to insure it for?? (4/20/2007)
Response: Thanks for all the info! I wish we could chat even if it's just to thank you for helping us beyond what we could ever have hoped for! And I'm not sure we would have even begun to think about all these things your mentioning. Anyway, the value of the machinery is $14,000. Transofflorida says "Insurance is included at no additional charge. We would be using a Stepdeck with ramps to make loading easier." We are going to have to find out what a stepdeck is... not sure about that, and if it would be covered for the full value. I wish we could have figured out insurance coverage so we could have you do the shipment! Upship sent me a link to insurance tips and I followed it to a link to PAF Insurance: http://www.grw-products.com/CargoInsRatesACIS.htm which from this rate page looks like $77 for $14,000 but we would have to do a lot of checking into that to see what that covers. I cannot tell you how much I appreciate your help! Gary (4/20/2007)
Question: Actually, $77. isn't bad.. step deck is a semi truck with a flatbed trailer that steps down about 2ft. from where the truck hooks up. He would be able to load it from the side. I don't know if transofflordia has a deductable on there Ins. or not. I will 231 the info to 745 if you can figure this out. 92 is the best 67 I can advise. If this helps, I will be home after 700 tonight thanks Jay (4/20/2007)
Response: Got it Jay :} I have to run into town how late are you usually up so I can be sure my 'e-mails' will get answered as I know your offer is expiring tomorrow! I had actually thought about doing that yesterday! I've written to tf about their deductible and if it's fully covered. So I should know something more later. Thanks again for everything! We'll talk later when I have more info! Gary (4/20/2007)
Question: Gary; good luck, and as in the other emails, you can't give phone numbers on here . HA so good luck Jay (4/20/2007)
Question: I'll be up til 11:00, maybe later. (4/20/2007)
