Questions for this shipment:
Question:
THE BEST OPTION WOULD BE TO CONTACT LOCAL TOWING CO. WHERE THE TRL.IS LOCATED AND GET A PRICETO LOAD IT ON A ROLLBACK AND THEN ON TO A FLATBACK. I'LL BE COMING FROM FL. NEXT WEEK MAY BE I CAN HELP WITH MY STEP DECK TRL .DAVE (1/27/2006)
Response:
when are you going to be in that area?? I talked to a tow co. across the street and they said they could put on rollback to transfer to a flatbed what are you going to charge?? (1/27/2006)
Question:
Still need this shipment shipped? If bid is acceptable to you we are booking loads now and we need to complete booking because it does take a little to prepare! / Renegade1 (1/27/2006)
Response:
yes still need shipped what type of equipment do you have ?? how are you planing on moving it ??thanks DAVE (1/27/2006)
Question:
is this a 30' trailer/is it possile to be pull w/new tires (1/27/2006)
Response:
its a 26' plus tounge needs to be hauled keeps blowing tires it started out in FL. where another member thought it could be towed and couldnt thanks DAVE (1/27/2006)
Question:
Hello Dave, I can't help with your move however I might have some info you could use in finding a solution. Your trailer is more than likley 29 ft overall length (26ft box + 3ft tounge) The common Rollback is 19ft and 21 ft bed length. Your trailer will not fit! I would guess the reason the tires were blowing out was the other mover was using passenger car tires rather than trailer tires. Good trailer tires are 8 ply and would have no problem carring the load you stated. The only other reasons for the tires blowing out would be; under inflation, towing at excessive speed or if on the right side only curbing the sidewall. I would think with the correct tires, proper load distribution in the trailer and a adequate power unit you should have no problem moving this trailer. That is if the trailer is rated for the weight your trying to move. Just my 2 cents. (1/27/2006)
Response:
the trailer had whatever tires were recamended and he had the changed to heavy ply tires and that still didnt help (1/27/2006)
Question:
Dave - I was raised in Ringgold, my parents are still there. If you're not from there, I believe my dad wouldn't mind checking the trailer to see what kind of tires are on it (where is the trailer located). Passenger tires are NG for that application. I have a 24 ft enclosed trailer, its been overloaded, and the tires have been better than my expectations, so I suspect (as the previous question stated) that NG tires were used. I would recommend checking the tires and if they're NG, get some good tires and have it towed by someone who is worth a ----. I wouldn't try to find someone to carry/haul a loaded trailer like that. (1/27/2006)
Response:
new good tires were used and that still didnt help (1/27/2006)
Question:
How many axles does this have? What is the size of tires and how many lugs? (1/27/2006)
Response:
2 axels 5lug small patern 15" (1/27/2006)
Question:
I planed on pulling the trailer with our pull truck/renegade1 (1/27/2006)
Response:
thats what the other member planed also and that didnt work for him , kept blowing tires and the last call he said the bearing was heating up to so it will have to be trailered DAVE (1/27/2006)
Question:
Hi, from what's been mentioned here, if the correct tires are being used, the trailer is overloaded. Is there any way to ship the truck separately? Regards, Chris (1/27/2006)
Question:
no problem/renegade1 (1/27/2006)
Response:
so does this mean you can haul ??it or were planning on pulling it thanks DAVE (1/27/2006)
Question:
Dave - If there's anything my dad can do to help, as long as it's not too back-breaking (he ain't as spry as he used to be), let me know. I'm not meaning for pay either. He's local to where your trailer is. Just let me know. (1/27/2006)
Response:
thanks for your help at most what I could use is a jack to change tires maybe is his number in the book if so what name is it under since I dont know if you can post it on here thanks again DAVE (1/27/2006)
Question:
Is it possible to (1)haul the bike up sep. like another trailer, and just the truck in your trailer? (2)Have the truck shipped in another way,trailer/rollback,ect. and just the bike in yours? By the way just so you know,I could only haul the bike at this time,my 1/2ton truck w/26ft trailer w/pickup in it would be A LOT for it to handle!! let me know. Since you would need 2 drivers, and had another that didn't work out for unforseen problems maybe I/we(other driver) could do thisa little cheaper to help out and make this a GOOD move, not a bad one!!! Anybody feeling helpful???? Thanks John (1/27/2006)
Question:
Dave/John, I'll be in Atlanta on 02/05; I won't have room for the bike, don't have capacity for the truck, and can't haul the trailer. I am willing to drive the truck to Hanover for nothing more than gas receipts if it helps. I'd have it there by very late evening 02/06 and would need a ride back to Bowie, MD (zip 20716) Regards, Chris (sail2xxs) (1/27/2006)
Response:
thanks for the offer but that wont work either this truck only has 450 miles on it and also weighs about 6500 lbs and is a magazine truck that wont be drove only trailered thanks again DAVE (1/27/2006)
Question:
I could haul it on a trailer but it would be with the next route truck throught there/renegade1 (1/27/2006)
Response:
also do I need to be around for this or can you get it loaded ?? (1/27/2006)
Question:
Dave, try sending out bid requests for hauling just the truck. Driver "LarryD" has a trailer with the capacity, and I think he's headed south... Regards, Chris (1/27/2006)
Question:
we have wenches on every trailer and you don't need to be there but some body need to sign bill of ladding/renegade1 (1/28/2006)
Response:
can the paperwork be faxed to me I'm in Myrtle Beach and if your sure you can get it loaded, how are you going to get the tounge up do you have something for it to set on? dolly?? let me know ASAP my time is running out DAVE (1/28/2006)
Question:
soon as booking is done I'll have dispatch put an asap on it./renegade1 (1/28/2006)
Question:
Renegade1,this is John[couple questions up]just wondering if your plan is to haul Daves loaded trailer on your trailer???If so then I'll stop trying to figure out a way that I/we [any other driver] would ba able to help out , since I'm in Oh. and that's a lot of empty miles just to help out another fellow USHIP familly member. Thanks John (1/28/2006)
Question:
dave, we'll put a wheel under the hitch and wench the trailer on our and then remove wheel and chain down and paper work would be uships /renegade1 (1/28/2006)
Response:
this will work, you garrantee this is going to make it to Hanover Pa and I wont have to be bothered with it again its not to heavy for you correct thanks DAVE (1/28/2006)
