Question: Whats being shipped?
Whats your budget? (2/27/2008)

Response: It is a dining room table with 5 leaves and the matching covers which fold up. I don't know what the going rate for this is, but if possible I really need to stay at or under the alloted $200. (2/27/2008)

Response: We can pickup Sun between 12-1pm and come right to you after that,
so roughly between 4-5pm
Let us know if that will work
We can do it for the $200 area
Thanks
Scott

Response: That sounds good, let me ask you a few questions since I am new to this. The table/leaves/covers are not in any packaging. I don't see how the legs can come off, I don't believe they are meant to be taken off either. The set would be going from me (Joe O'Neill) to the owner of it (Karen Sue Frank). How would payment be handled? How do I know that you and your company are legit? I read your profile and everything sounds good. I am not doubting you or trying to come off as a jerk. I'm sure you understand what I am saying. I see that you offer full value insurance? How much extra would that cost? I can help load the table set into your truck if needed, so on the pickup end, everything would be taken care of. However, the delivery is to a woman who lives in an apartment complex. She most likely would not be able to help much. She is located on the 3rd or 4th floor of the building, but there is an elevator with enough space to accommodate everything. (2/27/2008)

Response: Hello Joe,
Not a problem with the ??.
I totally understand.
We will load the table on and wrap the leaves/covers in thick pads then do the same to the table.
Then it will all be strapped in the truck.
There will only be a small loveseat on the truck the whole time the table is, so space is wide open.
We will drive right down to Forest Hills, drop off the table.
My men will carry the table into her apartment.
She will not have to do anything.
I would assume she is paying for the delivery, so she would pay the men the owed amount in cash (after the delivery)
The table is fully covered up to $1000 for free, if the value is more, it would be $25.
I appreciate your concern about legit companies.
There are defin a lot of poor companies out there.
In the morning, I can forward you several references so you can check how our service is, to give you piece of mind.
I will place the bid, and look it over, and once you check the references, you can make a decision (2/27/2008)

Question: Thank you, Joe...
Have a great night
Sincerely,

Response: I really liked your response, extremely professional and covered all points. I would have no problem using you as my resource to ship this table (as well as the engine if you are interested). I forgot to mention that the engine would already be strapped to a standard size wood pallet. It is a 4 cylinder engine that weighs somewhere in the 300+lb range if I had to guess. Once again, I could help provide manual labor to load it into the truck if needed. It would be delivered to a residential area. Thanks! (2/27/2008)

Response: Hello Joe,
I have a reference for you to call if you need too...it was a job just completed last weekend.
I would have to email it to you thru private email as they dont allow phone numbers on here
Just a quick question,
Dimensions of said table? and any chairs with that?
In regards to the engine, pickup at your location...where is it traveling too?
Thanks very much

Question: Hello Joe,
Why dont you accept the table bid and we can discuss the engine further?
Thanks
Scott
Emerald Star Trucking (2/28/2008)

Response: I will gladly accept it, but I wanted to see if we could work something out with the table prior to this. Due to the second bid by another established company offering a price about $40 lower, I wanted to see if we could arrange for the engine and table to be delivered for a combined shipping rate of $300? Obviously I am trying to go with a quality shipper and not the best price or I would have just accepted the lower offer. The table comes with no chairs, the dimensions are 40" long x 23" wide x 30" tall. The leaves are the same length, 1" thick, except for one that is 5" thick and they are all 15" wide. The covers all fold into a pile about 10" thick x 20" long x 15" wide. The engine would be going to

Methuen, MA 01844
Please let me know what you think about all of this. Thanks! (2/28/2008)

Response: Hello Joe,
That would be agreeable
We will pick up both the table and engine on Sunday between
12-1pm
Drop the table in Forest Hills and then the engine either later Sunday evening or on Monday.
Thank you
Scott

Response: Great, I accepted your bid and paid the downpayment. Is there anyway that I can pay you the $100 for the engine delivery (since he already paid me for the shipping costs) and then Karen can pay you the remaining $175 for the table upon delivery? Thanks again, Joe (2/28/2008)

Question: Hi there,
Do you still need this job doing? Looks like furniture from Schenectedy (sp?) to Forest Hills, NY and an engine from Schenectady to Methuen MA. Is this correct, and, if so, what's the time frame. I may be able to do this on Monday if we can come to terms. thanks Alastair (ahudson) (3/6/2008)

Response: Yes, I do still need both of these jobs done. Monday would work for me, do you have an idea of around how much you would be looking to get to do these? Thanks, Joe (3/6/2008)

Response: Hi again, I'm sorry to read about the aggravation you've encountered with another shipper. I would be thinking around $325 for both jobs, picking up mid-morning on Monday 03/10 with a mid/late afternoon drop of the dining table in Brooklyn. The engine would be a mid-morning delivery on Tuesday in Methuen. Unfortunately, I'm awaiting a couple of other decisions to drop before I'm abe to submit a formal bid, but thought it made sense to outline the parameters of what I can potentially do. I'm very hard-working, clean-cut, respectful and timely. Thanks so much. Alastair Hudson (ahudson) (3/6/2008)

Response: I would gladly accept that just [removed-direction off site] I REALLY need to get these two items shipped. Thank you! [phone number removed] I still plan on completing this deal within uship,
-Joe (3/6/2008)
