Question: Will these items fit in the back of a typical MINI-Van type vehicle (FORD-Windstar) without any seats, just open cargo space? Are they ready to ship, now? (9/2/2008)

Response: yes it should fit in the van. The coil springs hold a mattress 6ftx4ft...there is no mattress coming... just the frame which consists of two metal side rails and the small bottom and the top pieces. I am in Florida but my brother is in NY so he can arrange the actual pickup in Binghamton when I fiqure it all out. The bed will be for my mom who comes to stay with me for the winter. It's an old bed that has been around for a long time. Let me know (9/2/2008)

Response: I am leaving for Ft Lauderdale on Wed or Thurs - this could work if your load is available for pickup late afternoon/evening time frame? (9/2/2008)

Response: I will call my brother now and get back to you shortly. How much will you charge me to bring it down? (9/2/2008)

Response: Would $.20 cents/mile seem like a fair price to you? (9/2/2008)

Response: Listen, I was only hoping to spend around $150...the bed is probably not even worth that truth be told...but I like the bed (9/2/2008)

Response: Not Necessarily a DEAL KILLER - I understand your comment. Do me this favor - Get Your Brother In NY - To verify the dimensions specifically (*If Not Already Accurate here on USHIP as you've posted them? ) That allows me to identify what I can combine to your shipment, to offset my costs etc.... But be quick, because I'm finalizing my trip down to FL. (9/2/2008)

Response: You're the bomb! I am trying to reach him now but he's not home. Will try later and get back to you after 10:30pm as I won't be home till then. The bed springs measure 6x4. The head piece is about that wide maybe a little more to allow for the mattress. It is about 4 1/2 ft tall i think. The bottom is about 3 ft tall. At least that's how I remember it. PS...I will give you $180 to bring it down. It's 1337 miles from my brothers house to mine. The bed is in the storage on Chenango street which is closer in town than his house. (he is just 4 miles from the Pa border) I will keep trying his number during the evening and will email you when I get home. (9/2/2008)

Response: I think we are going to be able to work this out. Keep me posted. My plan is to put the head/foot boards flat on the floor carpet between the wheel wells end to end, pad them over the top, and set the box spring down on top of them. My "CLEAR" floor space in the van measures - 48"W x 89"L X (* 39"H minimum) (9/2/2008)

Response: I just spoke with my brother and he said that he would try to get down there tomorrow after work to measure the thing but he agreed with me about it. The long side rails might be a smidgen longer than 6ft obviously to allow for the frame etc. Don't worry about damage to the bed, it will be spray painted when it arrives. I'm quite sure nothing can damage it and I'm sure that you can make it fit. When will you be leaving? Are you vacatiopning? (9/2/2008)

Response: I'm going to re-bid for your use, but you will need to accept the bid before THURSDAY so I can get your contact phone number, and work out the details with you. (9/3/2008)

Question: I'll be coming through Binghamton Mid-Afternoon, to Early evening Thursday 9-4-08. I think we are good, have your brother save his time, as far as measuring and etc.... (9/2/2008)

Response: I will need to let someone know when to meet you at the storage place. I think that my brother gets home at 5ish and if need be, I can have someone else meet you there, I think. Just let me know. Should we exchange numbers or is that not allowed on this site? I have never done this before so I don't know how it works. I am not near a computer on Thurs. until about 5:15pm or early morning about 6:30am or so. Let me know and I will make arrangements. (9/2/2008)

Response: You have to accept the bid, before you will get the contact information. At that point you can give me the phone number for whomever, and I will call them within a few hours of my arrival for the pickup. But time is of the essense at this point. (9/3/2008)
